Just a bit ago the top three threads involved:

1.I have a DWI. Can I be a nurse?

2.I am stupid. Can I be a nurse?

3.If it takes me five times to pass NCLEX, Can I be nurse.

( I'm honestly joking here. I like everyone on here. I feel as though I have a love/hate relationship with some of these posters)

Ruby and Grntea I have nothing against you two! I respect both of your opinions, sometimes I just love to debate for no reason at all. I hope I don't offend anyone else here and if I ever do, I'm sorry.

I actually am a student but haven't started yet (Fall 2012), and I was starting to lose it reading these threads. Are these people really like this?

I think the reason I'm not "getting" my fellow students is that I'm older than they are and am not from this "entitled" generation. Boy, I can't wait until school begins so I can hang out with them everyday!

OMG, I just got fired after my 10th write up.. No problem though cause Ive already applied down the street and they would like to interview me.

I dont have to list the last place as a reference do I? They are gonna totally lie about me.. If they wouldve just stayed off my FB page, Id probably still be there--Haters!

I'm a new grad RN who only took this job in LTC because no one else would hire a new grad.

How come the LPNs and CNAs who have worked here for ten years don't drop what they're doing and run the second I tell them to do something??

I have to disagree with you on the DUI. It's not a mistake, it's a choice. A really stupid choice that has the potential to kill innocent people. We had a mother in our area who burned to death in her car after an MVA caused by a drunk driver, who, of course, came away from the accident unscathed.

I'm not going to discuss my feelings about multiple swings at the NCLEX ball. I've made my feelings plain on that on more than one thread.

I have to agree with you about DUI/DWIs. When I was in undergrad I worked at a firm representing drunks, it made me so disgusted and worried to drive in that town. These people found it funny and sometimes did not even know that they had been driving. One girl was hit by a drunk driver and burned so bad had to have over 20 surgeries. Driving intoxicated can impact many people! I empathize with all the work completed for any degree, but making the decision to get behind the wheel when intoxicated can impact any professional degree (e.g. lawyers cannot get barred with a DUI on record).

I'm a new grad RN who was hired as a staff nurse at a LTC.

How can this LPN who was a nurse here when I was in diapers possibly be my charge nurse?!?!? That's gotta be illegal right?!?!?

Unfortunately, the health care profession thinks we should extend unconditional love to them. I think if you get pulled over for DUI there should be automatic jail time plus community service. Kill or maim someone while DUI? Lifetime jail with no chance of parole. Draconian? Maybe. But try telling the suffering families that the person needs "one more chance."

does the pearson trick really work? is the pearson trick accurate? the pearson trick doesn't work! the pearson trick said i failed.

i remember the anxiety of taking the nclex and waiting for the results, but seriously do we need a new thread every day about this silly trick?
