Non-solicitation agreement
Yes, my concern is that it's very vague, and could apply to all the nursing homes and hospitals in my area. I understand them not wanting me to poach current clients or staff, but the 1 year part really bothers me.

Non-solicitation agreement
I'm being asked to sign a non-solicitation agreement as a condition of employment from a company that offered me a job. This agreement would last 1 year after my employment ended. I've never been asked to sign one before and I'm concerned about the possible implications if I do leave this company. Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks!

Aptitude Assessment for RN Analyst job in a hospital starting Epic system
Oh honey - I'm sure you'll pass if you haven't already. I had to take a similar test with experience as a nurse but zero experience with computers prior to my first Epic analyst job. I'm sure with your experience you will nail it! Please update us when you have a chance :)

Silly random nursing thoughts, one sentence, NO JUDGMENTAL FOLKS ALLOWED
In Florida there is an OBGYN named Richard Stiff. For some odd reason he goes by Dr. R. Douglas Stiff. In my city, we have an OBGYN named Dr. Yeast. It's pronounced YEAHst or something like that, but really? Change your name or choose a different specialty!!!

Sorry Nurse Recruiters/Nurse Managers!
What happens when the home health pt codes and it's just you and your black bag? No code team, No doctors, No experienced nurses around to help. Sure, you could call 911, but while waiting for the ambulance you'd better be performing CPR...

Unappreciated by the patient's family
If the pt is getting comfort measures only, he should not be on a rehab unit. Rehab pts are expected to do 3+ hours of PT/OT per day. If the pt cannot tolerate this or is not making progress they are not appropriate for rehab. Surely the family is aware of that To the OP: Run. Run far, far away. Those are really unsafe staffing levels. The facility is setting you up for failure. They only care about their bottom line; not your health, sanity, or nursing license. While you may feel a sense of accomplishment by "handling" this pt load, you're not doing anyone any favors - especially your pts!

Please include a section on grilling the fresh meat. New nurses covered in BBQ sauce...yum!

The Mockery of Nursing
After a long week of dealing with worthless nursing students, my thought process was somewhere along the line of: Nurses eat their young + horror + fomites = Silence of the Lambs

I often joke that I carry a magic wand that solves problems and takes care of pt's symptoms. Today, I actually said: "My magic wand can fix a lot of things, but stupid isn't one of them."

The Mockery of Nursing
I used to LOVE people. I was a real "people person." Then I became I nurse. Now, I avoid people as much as possible.
