  1. Can you please advise me on this: I was working in acute critical care nursing before and now an Informatics Nurse. My ACLS is due next year. Is it advisable to renew ACLS or not? Thank you in advance.
  2. Ooops! I just realized that I placed his to Patient Education. My apologies. I thought it is Nursing Education.
  3. Hello everyone! Can you please educate me about name title? I am graduating Master of Science in Health Informatics and Information Management. I have BSN and RN licensed. Currently, I am writing my name as follows: John Doe, BSN, RN After my graduation in MSHIIM, I am planning to change my end name title to: John Doe, MS, BSN, RN (shall I leave BSN since my masters is not in nursing?) Am I doing it right? Your help is much appreciated.
  4. Thank you for your responses. I really appreciate it ?
  5. It is important for a nurse or health informaticist to have experience in multiple nursing units? I asked this because I am currently working on my Masters in Health Informatics and Information Management while working as a nurse. I am currently working in Stepdown/Tele/Med-Surg unit. I also thought of applying an ICU RN position. My thinking about this is that the more workflow of nursing units I know, the better I understand the needs of nurses once I finally become an informaticist. I am in a point of re-evaluating my actions and making sure they are parallel towards my goal. Your response is much appreciated.
  6. Hello Everyone, I am planning to take the PCCN certification this year. It seems like David Woodruff CDs are very helpful to review. I am looking online where can I buy his CDs, looked at Ed4Nurses website, and Amazon, but it's nowhere to find. Can someone direct me where can I get copies of David Woodruff PCCN Review CD? Thank you. Madel
  7. Yes. I am worried because it's been a long time (2003) since I graduated from BSCoE. After that, I didn't have a chance to practice the profession. I migrated here in US and became nurse to make the story short. Now, this RN Analyst job is very important for me because it is the start of what I've been wanting to do, which is IT and healthcare/nursing. I can't fail the aptitude assessment. I need to get ready and know what in math, verbal, and technical learning do I need to study. I just want this badly.
  8. I am currently applying for RN Analyst in one of the local hospital that will implement a new software system called EPIC. I was scheduled for aptitude assessment for math, verbal, and technical learning. This job is what I really really want to have and I don't want to lose this opportunity just by failing the aptitude assessment. By the way, my background is I am a RN for 2.5 years, graduating BSN this December, and I had BS in Computer Engineering (from Philippines, but I'm now in US). I need all the tips I can get to get through this aptitude test for math, verbal, and technical learning. I heard that epic system has a good reputation and is a good gateway for a really good career. This is what I've always wanted, I would like to use both my skills in nursing and IT. Will you be able to tell me what's in aptitude test? Is there specific aptitude test for RN analyst or Nurse informatics? Your help will be much appreciated. Thank you.
  9. I am also an engineering graduate, planning to take nursing this October..
