The Mockery of Nursing

Published

Just a bit ago the top three threads involved:

1.I have a DWI. Can I be a nurse?

2.I am stupid. Can I be a nurse?

3.If it takes me five times to pass NCLEX, Can I be nurse.

Not much left to add. Says it all.

Time out ...so we can put all seriousness aside.

It's OK to PWI but it's NOT OK to DWI...

OK, FOR THE NOTABLY UNCOOL SET, PWI (POSTING WHILE INTOXICATED), be it booze, Dr. Pepper, frappuccino, whatever you like

Thankfully I passed the NCLEX on the first try but can you really take it five times? And I am amazed at some of the people that I graduated with. If I walked into a room and they were the Nurse I would run for the hills....

Well, then I'm uncool, because I thought you meant "pee while intoxicated."

No, I don't do pee. I am an RN. I leave that up to the techs to handle.

LOL. A Nurse at work said that all Nursing school students should have to be an aide for a month... I am sure that it would change a lot of minds.

i am sooo sorry i saw the title of this thread come up the other day and decided not to look in, preferring to scan the student list for pearson vue tricks and eight or ten "please help me write my first care plan because i dont understand what nursing dignosis is and my instructor wont talk to me aboutit she just sez do you're best should i take the cna licensing test first, and i want togo to ns at abccc but i cant figure out why may be i shud be a buiding super insead."

(now, you know i really do love students and new grads...really, i do, honest...but sometimes i just wanna, like, slap some of them)

I totally agree with this statement. That needs to be a Pre-req. I bet alot of "career-changers" would think about it.

not to derail the hilariousness of this thread but why is it lately that the "career changers" are getting a bad rap? I've wanted to be a nurse for a long time, but my former employer wasn't schedule friendly - I happened to get laid off (actually they miraculously didn't have a position for me after my FMLA ran out I was a 10 year employee) and it was like I was handed an opportunity...so not all of us are in it for the glory of saying "I'm a nurse" - some of us are finally getting a golden opportunity - I happen to love nursing school, love clinicals and well - poop is what's going to keep me in a job!

I'm a new grad LPN in LTC two days off orientation and I'm gonna quit cause I can't handle the med pass.

The only nurses who could *possibly* finish a med pass on time are jaded old bats who probably throw pills away and don't love the patients as much as I do.

i clicked on this thread because the title sounded interesting. what a disapointment. instead of a thread discussing the 'mockery of nursing' it is a thread aimed at humilitating fellow an members. and to think there are moderators on here participating. unbelievable.

really, you're no better than a bunch of kids sitting in a cafeteria pointing and laughing while making fun of the kids who aren't cool like you.

to those commenting that this is 'the best thread ever', and 'i'm laughing so hard i have pop coming out my nose' grow up.... this thread has been done before. it wasn't funny then and it isn't funny now, this thread is mean, unprofessional and very immature.

what's most disapointing is that there are members commenting on this thread whose opinions i usually respect.

Ahhhhhhhh Twin.....just having a good time. I am glad you are in nursing school and doing good. I am sorry about your layoff. but now if you read my entire post, some are pretty pathetic IMO.....
