Taking A&P I Fall 2009?

Published

Anyone else taking A&P I this fall? I am taking it, along with four other classes. I'm really nervous because I have heard its extremely difficult! Hopefully those of us taking it this fall can help each other out when we have a question, so please reply here if you're one of the lucky ones haha!

I am taking it this fall, and I have already began studying for it. I hope we can help each other out, God knows Ill need it. lol!

summermeadow, how are you studying for it? i got the book and started reading but i'm curious what other people are doing to get a head start.

Count me in! I just registered today for A&P, and that is ALL. As much as I want to take another class or 2 this quarter I've heard so many people tell me how hard this class is, and I want to make sure I get an A. Slow and steady wins the race. :typing

Don't worry! I took A & P in the Spring along with 4 other classes/clinicals! It was tough, but I escaped with a C+ which was my lowest grade. I passed though and am VERY happy for it. Currently taking Pharmacology...now that class is a kick in the gut and then when you fall to the ground...a kick in the side! SO HARD and I only have 2 other classes!

For me, I was able to get ahold of a syllabus from last semester. I am able to see how my instructor is going to break up the class so I have can get ahead on the reading and make some notes. He also has his Power Point Presentations online that I was able to download. As I am making notes I am writing questions down for things I am not quite sure of in hopes that they will be answered in the lecture. Hopefully this will make me pay more attention during lecture so I can get my questions answered. :D

Also, I have started making flashcards. That way I can spend more time studying them than making them. :)

I am! And cannot wait...is that weird??

I already took advanced anatomy in high school and a mammalian physiology series during my undergrad studies, so I am hoping to well. A&P happens to be my favorite subject of biology, so I know this will keep me motivated. I am most looking forward to the labs.

I am also taking a short-term (8 weeks) hybrid statistics course, along with working full time, and starting my internship as a critical care extender. I take the GRE this Saturday, and if I don't do as well as I hope, I am going to have to fit reviewing GRE material somewhere in my schedule. It's going to be a busy semester, but I am excited for it!

I am taking a&p this fall too. I am also taking college math. YUCK! I am nervous about the a&p class because it is online lecture and in person lab. I was hoping to do it all in person but waited too long to sign up for classes and this was the only thing available that would work with my work schedule. I wish us all the best of luck  :)

I am also taking A&P I this fall along with Developmental Psych and Humanities in the Western Tradition. I got my A&P book (saladin) and flashcards(barron's) in the mail today and I have already started reading. My friend took it last fall with the same professor so she gave me his study guide and the lecture notes. I am so excited about this class, and can't wait for lab! I plan on sleeping, breathing, eating, A&P cuz I need an A in these courses. :)

Missybear, I am also taking a&p1 in the fall and that's it. I have a part time job (24 hrs), married with 2 kids under 10 yrs old. I think if I took any more classes than that I would be setting myself up for failure and a nervous breakdown!!

I'm taking A&P I with lab, English, psychology, sociology, history and a freshmen advisement seminar this fall. I'm in a 1+2+1 nursing program, so this year is my pre-reqs, next year and the year after that (years 2 and 3) are the ASN/RN years, and the last year is finishing up requirements for a BSN.

I'm not Summermeadow but I hope you don't mind my answering. :) I was going to start reading and outlining the chapters in my text based on the order of the labs I see in my lab notebook (cellular first). But I'm thinking I'll leave my text in the shrink wrap in case the prof says an older version will do just as well. I'm going to get a textbook from the library and start reading that. At least the information won't be entirely new that way. I mean stratified, squamous, cuboidal and columnar are still stratified, squamous, cuboidal and columnar, right?

I m taking A&P I and lab along with Human growth and development, Political science and Microeconomics...

Wish you all best of luck for this semester ;)
