Taking A&P I Fall 2009?

Anyone else taking A&P I this fall? I am taking it, along with four other classes. I'm really nervous because I have heard its extremely difficult! Hopefully those of us taking it this fall can help each other out when we have a question, so please reply here if you're one of the lucky ones haha!

I am taking A&P1 and lab,general chemistry and lab,Intro to psychology, and a first aid class.

here, points are what gets ya in nursing, and you need all of your prereqs to get in. last semster they said lowest points got in was 21.

My prof sucks. She's nice and all, but she isn't teaching us. In fact, she told us that she was gonna have us learn the first two chapters on our own/in our small groups she made for us, then take a test on them, and she'll go over the material after that. Lab is hard too. By October 1st we have to have the skull memorized, location and spelling!

Your professor sounds like a professor I had for a Chemistry course (which didn't turnout well for me). Today was my first day of A&P and my professor seems easy going. He says that lecture exams will only be from the material covered in class. We're doing the whole bones and tissue material at the end of the semester because they it's just straight memorization. The Bio department at my school wants to make sure the neuro and endocrine systems are covered and not rushed (which is usually what happens at the end of the semester).

i suggest everyone get a good atlas for the skeletal system. :] i've got a nice one and like the pal 2.0 lab, which has pictures of cadavers and stuff. my lab is a dry lab so we can't dissect anything so this is the next best thing...

Taking A&P I, and Chemistry this semester. Oh, and working nearly 50 hours/week, raising two little girls....the list goes on. Good exercise in time management. ;)

Im taking A&P 1. I hate the lab. Do I have to take A&P lecture and lab together? Im thinking of withdrawing from the lab and take it another semester.

What is it you dislike about the lab? I'm enjoying lab more than lecture. At my school all science classes have a lab and they are required co-requisites.....and are scheduled separately of each other. Another local school has lecture and lab at the same time. Just depends on the school I'm sure.

Im just not grasping the lessons/lectures. He is not coming across clear. Half of the class didnt understand him. I dont know if its because the teacher(a chiropractor) has never lectured before. this is his 1st teaching job. He just says make sure you know the whole metric system, know how to use the microscope the instructions are on page ... of the lab manual...that sort of stuff he says.

The Theory professor on the other hand is terrific. He uses the text book on power point with his lectures. and says you can record his lectures (which nobody does).
