head in dependent position
I came across a practice NCLEX question about Cystic fibrosis and postural drainage. The answers for facilitating the movement of secretions is putting the child's head in a dependent position. It was a select all that apply and the correct answers were: place child in a side lying position with the right side of the chest elevated on pillows place the child prone with the thorax and abdomen elevated place the child in a knee-chest position and place pillows under the chest so my question is does that mean the head is elevated or dangling since the pillows are placed under the chest, thorax and ABD? My understanding is that dependent means dangling, but it seems odd to let a child's head dangle.. thank you:)

The only differences between the fast track and the traditional program that i know of are: with traditional you get summer and winter breaks, the program length is 28 months as opposed to 20 months, classes are held at the main campus and clinicals are done at various hospitals throughout the valley instead of having classes and clinicals at one set hospital or site.

I've been curious about that-after what block we would be able to apply for a job at a hospital/medical center. Since I chose traditional I would have summers off and it would be nice to have a job during the break. Keep us posted about what you find out about the CNA test after block 1. Good luck to you!!

Sorry, I should have specified. The e-mail I received said if accepted to the fall traditional program there will be an immunization orientation on the 16th of June. So it looks as if they are splitting the orientations depending on the program you chose. So I should know either way by Wednesday. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Taking A&P I Fall 2009?
I am taking a&p this fall too. I am also taking college math. YUCK! I am nervous about the a&p class because it is online lecture and in person lab. I was hoping to do it all in person but waited too long to sign up for classes and this was the only thing available that would work with my work schedule. I wish us all the best of luck :)
