Spring 2011 Hopefuls!!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Everyone, Hello,

This thread is created for anyone who is applying for a 2011 Nursing School Program! We can await our fates together. I think that waiting is going to be the hardest part! I am applying to a Community College for an ADN RN program. Applications are due Sept. 20th and we should know by early Novemeber!! My school just told me that they may also consider a math class that I took (with a higher grade) over College Algebra, which would significantly raise my GPA! I am hopeful!! Where is everyone else applying and when will you potentially find out?!

Count me in! :yeah: This is my second year applying to a BSN program, since I was denied by my first school. But, thankfully this school goes strictly by GPA and I was told by my advisor I have a very good shot at getting in. I have had to take additional pre-reqs for this school, which has put me a year behind in graduation plans, but I refuse to let a bump in the road stop me!

I'm applying to the U of Northern Colorado, hopefully starting in May. I have a 4.0, and I'm taking pre-reqs of Patho and Biochem this semester, along with a CNA class. Once I have my final fall semester grades, I will send in my application. I will finish the last 2 of my pre-reqs (pharm and a nutrition class) in the spring on campus and then hopefully start a couple weeks after spring semester is finished. If I have to wait for the next group, then its only until September, so it's not too bad.

Congratulations to those who got their letters already and good luck to those still waiting!!

I am hoping to get into the UH Maui nursing program in the spring!!! We are suppose to find out sometime in late September or early October. Each semester they only accept 60 students and there are well over 200 applicants. I hope I am one of the lucky 60:D At our college they choose who enters the program on a points system. All prerequisits with A's get 4pts and B's 3pts etc. I wish you all luck!

I'm waiting to find out if I got in for Spring 2011 too! I've applied at USD (South Dakota) and have already taken the entrance exam and now the waiting game begins! Our apps were due Aug 1st and we took our exams the last full week in August. They told us we'd know around the end of September. My advisor said they are accepting only 36 and about 150+ apply.

Good luck everyone!

My nursing application and transcripts had to be turned in last Wed. Sept. 1st and they use the ranking system. I will find out around Sept. 15th.

I'm still waiting, I think I'll find out in October:eek: I can't stand the wait anymore!!!!!!!!!

Hi all. I know I'm late at replying, but I just turned in my application for the Spring 2011 semester yesterday! The deadline is September 24th, so I probably won't hear if I am accepted or not until late October or early November. My school is strictly GPA based and only accepts 48 a semester, so it's quite competitive. My GPA applying is a 3.896, so I am feeling pretty confident. I was told the highest the accepted GPA has even been was a 3.69. I cannot wait until October now. It's all I think about all day long! Good luck to all the other applicants. Here's to hoping we have a "Accepted Spring 2011 Celebration" thread soon. :yeah:

Wow I haven't checked this thread in awhile and its great to her all the good news!!!! I also got my acceptance letter a couple weeks ago!!! :yeah:I will be starting next semester and I'm so excited I cannot wait until I get to buy my books. 2 years from next semester and I will have my BSN. I hope everyone gets in and keeps posting on here. This seems to be a lucky thread. I'm a little bored this semester I just have to gen. ed. classes...so I'm on here a lot. :stdnrsrck:

I applied to the Spring 2011 Gordon College Nursing Program. App deadline was July 30th & we find out about acceptance 8 weeks from then so its coming up soon! I should know by the end of this month! I'm soooooo excited about it!

I just finished turning my references in today for Spring 2011 ADN. Now all I have to do is have my teachers email progress reports in Microbiology and A&P II. I'll find out in early November!! Waiting is most definitely the worst part!! I'm trying not to think about it TOO much until then, so the wait won't seem AS long! :)

Good luck everyone!!! :anpom:

I applied for College of the Sequoias ADN program in Visalia, CA. Applications were due July 15 for Spring 2011. Acceptance/Denial letters are not mailed until November. I don't understand why the looooonnnnnggg wait.....but patience I must have!

Good luck to all. I have an overall 3.84 gpa, all As in core classes and an 83.5% on the TEAS...... What do you think????

Hi! I am new to this website and just came across this post. I have applied to the Community College for the Spring program. This is my third time applying and I am about to give up. Both times previously, I made the wait list but was unsuccessful at getting into the program. For the spring we had to have our applications in by July 1 and are not expected to hear anything until October. This waiting is insane.

I try not to think about it because during the process for Fall 2010, I was fairly confident that I would get in. I have a 3.85 GPA, high test scores, everything looked to be in my favor and then I get rejected because my scores weren't high enough. The bright side of the coin was that out of 177 applicants, I ranked # 54 and the program only accepted 40. So not too bad for being out of school for 22 years. This go around, I am really hoping to get in...............it is a 2 year program for my associate RN, but I have already taken every other class imaginable and once I get through the program, I can go ahead and finish my Bachelor's.

Best of luck to everyone of you who are still waiting and congratulations to those who have been accepted!!

Apps were due yesterday (9/15) at my local CC. This is my 2nd time applying. Should know within about 3 weeks.....
