Spring 2011 Hopefuls!!

Published

Everyone, Hello,

This thread is created for anyone who is applying for a 2011 Nursing School Program! We can await our fates together. I think that waiting is going to be the hardest part! I am applying to a Community College for an ADN RN program. Applications are due Sept. 20th and we should know by early Novemeber!! My school just told me that they may also consider a math class that I took (with a higher grade) over College Algebra, which would significantly raise my GPA! I am hopeful!! Where is everyone else applying and when will you potentially find out?!

Hi there, Im a spring 2011 hopeful. Im applying to st.johns river community college ADN program. Applications start sep. 1st, and we should know within a couple weeks of the deadline (sep 30th). They only accept 36 people so Im not getting my hopes too high, but we'll see. I still have to take the Hesi A2 which Im pretty nervous about. Any and all advice on that is welcomed! Good luck and blessings to everyone applying!!

K Nurse,

I hear St. Johns is pretty tough to get into, Good luck to you!! Have you applied elsewhere as well? My porgram is very similar I am applying to Tallahassee Community College and they only accept 40 peple out of 250 applicants. Do you have to take all the Hesi A2, just certain parts of the test? My advice would be to take your time! I took it twice and raised my points the second time by just re-reading and taking my time. I also made notecards for all vocab words, and worked the math problems out until I go them all right! I am sure you will do fantastic!! Good Luck!

I haven't applied anywhere else this semester but if I don't get into St Johns then Ill apply to FSCJ. Thanks for the advice on the HESI. Im pretty nervous but I have about a month to study, so thats good. I have a 3.5 but I live out of count so that may hurt me a bit. Does tally go by GPA? Good luck to u...and GO NOLES!!!!!

TCC, Does go by GPA, but it's the Pre-req GPA only, and the Hesi A2 Score. But you are only required to take the Vocab, Math, Grammer, and reading comp. parts of the exam! Yes, a month is a perfect amount of time to study--by the HESI Evolve study guide for the test, and it will help you! Good luck to you~

I think SJRCC takes only A&P, grammar and math, so thats good. Where would you suggest I get the study guide from? I here TCC is a great school. Im sure you'll get in. Don't know about you but Im all nerves and will be till October!

I got my study guide from Barnes and Noble, but I am sure you cna purchase it cheaper from Amazon. Here is the link to the Barnes and Noble http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Evolve-Reach-Testing-and-Remediation-Admission-Assessment-Exam-Review/HESI/e/9781416056355/?itm=1&USRI=evolve+reach

I don't think it has an extensive A&P section, but I heard if you get A&P for dummies and review that it helps? But since I didn't take that portion I am not 100% sure. The guide does help to give you an idea of how exactly the test is layed out :)

TCC is suppose to be a very good school, so I am praying that I get in!! They just told me that they will take my MG 1107 grade instead of my MAC 1105 grade--which would be awesome because then my Pre-Req GPA would be much more competative!! I am crossing my fingers for us both! I will be a nervous wreck as well until October and maybe even Novemeber!! Uhg, such a long wait it seems!

Okay great Ill look into that. I don't think we have a Barnes and Noble around my area but Im sure they have it at Books a Million or something. Congrats on the math grade. I still need to take college algebra myself. SJRCC doesn't require it, but if I don't get in, Ill need it for FSCJ next term.

Im sure we will get in. *fingers crossed*!!! And if for some reason we don't we'll just try again! But Im not even thinking that far ahead. Thanks Noel:redpinkhe

It's an Accelerated BSN program. University of Medicine & Dentistry of NJ (UMDNJ). If no luck, then I have other programs I'm considering and then that will make me a 2011 Spring Hopeful. LOL.
