Spring 2011 Hopefuls!!
I just finished turning my references in today for Spring 2011 ADN. Now all I have to do is have my teachers email progress reports in Microbiology and A&P II. I'll find out in early November!! Waiting is most definitely the worst part!! I'm trying not to think about it TOO much until then, so the wait won't seem AS long! :) Good luck everyone!!! :anpom:

dfzz: I really want to go to CCHS too! Just wondering what your GPA is and what classes you have, if you don't mind sharing?? I am going to apply this summer for spring 2011 admission and am praying I get in! :/ I would love to hear from someone who has gotten in or has been waitlisted just to kinda see if I have a chance.. Thanks!:)

Having a hard time fitting in!
Having a good friend(s) can make a huge difference in your whole experience in nursing school! I don't want you to have to dread breaks and feel like an outsider because that will burn you out quickly! My best advice is to just take a seat beside someone and start up a conversation. Talk about an upcoming test, jobs, the teacher/class, just anything you think you may have in common. After you make one friend it is easier to network and become a "friend of a friend's". The hardest part is breaking the ice! Some times if you feel uncomfortable or out of place it is difficult to be yourself, so just relax and do the best you can! Before class, make a point to sit near some classmates and talk to them. Start slow, just asking them questions about themselves makes you seem more approachable. After talking to a few of your classmates, I am sure you will hit it off with someone..then just ask if they would like to do lunch or study together.:) Hope this helped a little! Are you in nursing school? Britt

Can I be a CNA?
I agree, you should not let your size hold you back from something you want! The residents at my nursing home always tell me I look too young to be a "nurse" (I'm a CNA). However, once they get used to you, they won't mind! As far as strength, you will learn tricks on how to turn, transfer, etc. Good luck!!

CCHS Spring 2010 admission!! Advice please!!
I am currently a pre-nursing student and REALLY want to attend Cabarrus College of Health Sciences in Spring 2011. I am hoping I get accepted into the ADN program. My GPA is about a 3.5 and I have all the pre-reqs except A&P II and medical term. Also, my nutrition is not going to transfer in I recently found out..anyway I was just wondering if someone who has gotten in to the program or knows of someone who has could tell me what type GPA/classes they had. I have heard some people say it is difficult to get into and some say it is easier than a university. Basically, do I have a chance?! Oh yeah, and I already have my NA1 and have experience. Any input would be extremely helpful because this is the only school I am going to apply to in the Spring and I am very anxious to find out if I am going to be a nursing student or not next year!!!
