  1. I think its a great idea! CNA training and the clinicals will let you know right away if nursing school is right for you. There was a girl in my class that wanted to be a nurse, went to CNA clinicals and then decided she wanted nothing to do with it. I think working as a CNA while in school would be great because you can get a variety of schedules (not just 9-5 stuff) that will allow you to go to school at the same time. You'll probably have a leg up on your fellow student too!
  2. Hey there! Couple of things: 1) With your education background I would go for a BSN for sure! I am in a BSN program now and they are stressing ADNs are not going to be as desirable as BSNs in the job market. 2) The community colleges are only offering ADN programs and the wait list is about 3 years. So there's that to consider. 3) I am not sure which GPA matters with CU (BA or MBA) but I know they are very strict about that criteria. There are other BSN programs you can apply to. Regis, Metro State, UNC and DSN. They are all great schools. 4) I don't think it makes a difference where you take your pre-reqs. The grade you get is very important. CCD offers online courses that are great if you can't attend normal class times. Good luck. Let me know if you have any other questions!
  3. I am going to warn you to stay away from this school. I was "accepted" but I think anyone with a diploma and the money to pay for it will be. They are really shady about the classes they make you take (computer class? seriously?) that I feel they just add on to bump up the tution. I had a B.A. in Psychology and they were going to make me take an Intro to Psych class. Be careful.
  4. I just started school and I'm having a really hard time - not with the classes but with the social aspect. It seems like everyone already has already made friends and has split into groups. I feel totally left out and I dread time between classes because I usually spend it alone. I'm a shy person so going up to other students and starting conversations is hard for me. I'm really frustrated and pretty upset. What is your advice?
  5. I just started nursing school and I need to buy shoes for when we are working in the lab - these will eventually be my shoes for clinicals. They must be all white with closed toes and heels. Do any of you have any suggestions for what you have found to be the most comfortable shoes? Or any shoes to avoid? We can not wear Crocs. Your input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks to you all!
