  1. Yes, FHZ is no longer hiring non-benefitted at the increased rate. I think it was around $35/hr dayshift with no benefits. They are not offering that anymore. You either take benefits or show you have benefits and the rate is the same. BOO!!!!
  2. Oh and FHZ med surg has 6:1 for RNs and 10-15:1 for CNAs. PCU has 4:1 and usually 1 tech for all pts, sometimes as many as 16. ICU has no techs, not sure about RN ratio. Also not sure about diffs.
  3. Ha!!!! Riches!!! FH Zephyrhills is paying GNs $19.
  4. I have Nikes from Nordstrom Rack that have a minimal amount of silver and black on the swoosh and they were approved.
  5. My gf is bridging this summer as are a number of ppl from her class. 100% doable :-)
  6. Its available to employees going for their RN. It's $1750/ semester and you are contracted to work for the hospital for 6 months for every semester of scholarship money taken. And if you break your contract you pay it back at 150%! :-\ But I wanted to be assured a job when I graduated. Plus, I have worked there for almost 2 years. And aside from the recent budget "issues" they seem to be having, I REALLY like working there, especially the people. :-)
  7. Sorry, yes, I got all the required books for class. But a lot of my studying came from supplemental resources, SUCH AS NCLEX study guides and practice tests I found online. Also, I have a scholarship thru my employer, FHZ. If you have any questions about that, please let me know :-)
  8. I finished my first semester in the RN program at NPR. I got an A, had a ton of fun but started studying for exams 7-10 says before the exam date. I used to just cram the night before! It's not that bad. It is front loaded in the beginning and seems overwhelming, but they Def make up for it as the semester rolls on. Ask around for any NCLEX books you can borrow. That's how I study. I have 7 different books 2 friends let me borrow and they have been awesome. Let me know if you have any specific questions.
  9. I too work at FHZ, as a unit secretary and have been here a year and a half. I'm trying to do nurse tech but apparently they are changing some things with regard to the NT position, so I am waiting for that to get hammered out. By far, the BEST decision I ever made was getting this job. I have learned so much, such as drug names, procedure types, lingo, talking to doctors, and even just interacting and talking with patients. I highly recommend it. I am on the scholarship program here. I will do the 2 years. Mainly bc I need the money to help pay daycare costs. And I don't mind committing 2 years to here. I really like it, plus I'm hoping to move to the new location once it opens. FHZ does not reimburse for LPN, but I believe they will for the bridge portion. Daycare is raping me so I needed all the money I could get, as soon as I could get it! Again, Congrats to all! PM me if you have any questions. :-)
  10. Typically, RN orientation is one day and LPN is a different day. Go with your program specific day.
  11. Drug test, eh? So......that's new....
  12. Bartonbunch!!! It's me, Christina!!! Congrats girl!!!!
  13. You guys are so cute!!! ;-)
  14. Holler!!!!! Congrats to all!!!!
  15. Uh,that's the biggest load of dog trash I've ever heard. It's strictly by the numbers. To think otherwise, is only psyching yourself out. Do your best, say a prayer and then wait. Good luck!
