  1. Thx Jessika! I called today and they did have funds set aside for me for supplies/books..thank GOD! I did confirm that Monday, the 15th we would be able to get them:) Counting down the days until we all start this vigorous journey!
  2. Jessika...I believe Monday the 15th they can be used. Did you do the tuition deferment plan? I did it as well and have loans, but wasn't sure if we would be able to do book authorization with that???
  3. Good questions!!! I am starting the LPN program at West Campus in August too! I wanted to add to your list of questions by asking: 1.) Is it even possible to apply to the bridge program in the fall of next year because the program doesn't end until July and the application deadline is May right? Don't you have to be a licensed LPN to apply? It would really suck if we had to wait a whole other year:: Has anyone out there bridged???
  4. Seriously! That uniform is hideous! Why not just white scrubs...ehhhh And your right Jessika...gonna have to get some cute shoes...hopefully that will divert people's attention lol
  5. Jessika, I work in Student Activities EC, I do not know the EXACT date of the planner coming out, but I do have a draft copy...is there something I can look up for you?? Also...to my fellow LPN classmates...how excited is everyone for orientation next Wed??? I am supppppper excited! I did my physical today and vaccines and I am all done with everything! Haven't bought any supplies yet...has anyone gotten their stethoscope? I would like to buy a nice one and hear the Littman Cardiology iii is a very good one? I figure it will stay with me a while so worth the investment? Hope everyone is doing well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Jessika..which health department did you go to? I haven't gotten my physical done yet, but wanted to get an idea of the prices....$200 is a lot of money! I still haven't had my program switched in wise yet and that is messing with my financial aid as well, hopefully everything will work itself out in time! Regarding the BLS class, I also took mine at PHCC a couple months ago and the instructor asked us if we needed any documentation showing that we had completed the class...I'm sure they will give you something to take with you to orientation, I wouldn't worry about it:) For those of you who work in a hospital now....what is your position and where do you work?
  7. Rickie40!!! Good to hear from you!! Did you see the fb page Barton started?? Has anyone done their physical/bloodwork/ppd and if so where are you going and how much $$$$??????????????????
  8. I wish they had that for the LPN program....it can be a little expensive..lol
  9. Not sure about the east or west thing because I'm LPN but what i can tell you is i got the same thing for the drug screen but then if you check your email there will be one from them. I just printed the email confirmatjon and showed them that and got the paperwork today:) hope that helps!
  10. bartonbunch6...I can't find the page?? Maybe you can add me since I can't find it? My email is [email protected] the name will be mike-Jera Lord:)
  11. Congratulations Bartend!!! To the Lpn peeps, our orientation is on the 3rd. I went to West Campus today to get drug test paperwork and confirmed it! Also, where is everyone going for their physical/bloodwork?
  12. I think the 2nd is Rn program only. I am going to the West Campus today to turn some things in, so I will double check:)
  13. Now i'm really confused! The two papers I have both say the 3rd at West Campus from 8-12 in conference center bldg R?
  14. Ok..so I haven't been on in a couple days because I have been fighting this nasty cold and taking care of two sick little ones! But I'm still super excited and anxious to get started!! I know that Aug 3rd (orientation) will be here before we know it! I did my criminal background check and made copies of my CPR card. I need to call tomorrow to make my appt for my physical vaccines/bloodwork and also need to dig up my immunization record! I plan on going to the college tomorrow to drop off my letter of intent and then also pay for my drug test! I haven't bought anything yet as far as hemostats and blood pressure cuff..and stethoscope....does anyone have any suggestions on which ones to get or do you think they will tell us this at orientation? I just don't want to be bombarded with buying a bunch of stuff at one time, but I would really like to get a good stethoscope!!! Not TOO excited about the uniforms, but I figure I will get used to them...I suppose they will help us stand out..lol and YES I definitely need to stock up on white undies as I do not want to be THAT person..lol How is everyone else doing? Is anyone going to be working while going to school? Anyone have kids, etc? Hope everyone is having a great 4th...this time next year we will almost be done with the program!!!!! Also...would anyone be interested if i started up a PHCC LPN Class of 2012 facebook page? I know they have done it in the past and thought it was a good idea!
  15. Rickie40...we are definitely going to be on this journey together, I plan on bridging as well to the RN program!! I know that this is going to be a trying process, but SO worth it! It's so nice to know that I will not be alone!!! We have a lot to do to prepare for the upcoming semester.....Just soo excited! Did I say I was excited..lol July 1st=most amazing day ever!
