Spring 2011 Hopefuls!!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Everyone, Hello,

This thread is created for anyone who is applying for a 2011 Nursing School Program! We can await our fates together. I think that waiting is going to be the hardest part! I am applying to a Community College for an ADN RN program. Applications are due Sept. 20th and we should know by early Novemeber!! My school just told me that they may also consider a math class that I took (with a higher grade) over College Algebra, which would significantly raise my GPA! I am hopeful!! Where is everyone else applying and when will you potentially find out?!

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone that got their letter!!

Noel: I'm sure yours will be coming soon-good luck :)

I am a spring hopeful too!!! just took my TEAS yesterday and my fingers and toes are crossed!!! letters should go out mid-October, so I'll be stressin til then....

Congrats to all who have received their acceptance letters, and luck to all who await theirs!!!

HI everyone.. to those that got accepted congratulations!!! It's been a long unbearable wait for you I am sure.

I am new to this sight and I am love this thread I feel like ya'll are feeling what I am. I'm 21 and praying for my letter. I put it in back on August 6th 2010. So, yes, I am a hopeful! VERY VERY HOPEFUL. I am applying to Georgia Southern University BSN program and I am so nervous. They only accept 50 students a semester and 5 of those seats automatically go to those nursing majors in ROTC. Only 40 seats left. We were told 6-8 weeks, I am currently anxiously awaiting through my 7th week of not knowing. UUUUGGGHHH !!!!!

Bad thing is my GPA is a 2.899999 its aggravating cause they say they only accept 3.0 but there have been some every semester below that.

However, I got a question for my fellow hopefuls..... I took A&P I fall of freshman year had some medical things happen and my professor was less than caring (tenure and head of dep of health and kiniesiology) got a D in the course. Didn't know about medical withdrawl or anything like that and by the time my adviser told me it was too late to get it taken off. Unfortunately for us, grades do not come off our records. The D is there and so is my C from A&P I & II. That was taking care of, my now ex, boyfriend who had kidney disease and dialysis.... yada. Anyways, I was thinking if I do not get accepted this go around should I retake my A&P's?

Major1: I do not know how you have been waiting so long

I received my letter last week and it stated that I was on standby. I am actually excited because this is a hard nursing program to get into and they use the ranking system. The only thing they can rank me on is my grades. They rank you on a few things like being in the military, being a CNA, being part of organizations, you SAT's and ACT's, but I only had grades to go by. The letter did state that most standby students will get in though. I will find out again on Oct. 18!

Yes I would definitely retake A&P, its hard to stand out in these competitive programs with Cs in A&P

I took the TEAS V test today. Now I just have to wait until they send out the letters. So happy that is over with. I got a 74.7% over all. Did very well on the reading, average on math and grammar, and bombed the science. Not as high as I'd like but i'm happy anyways. Fingers crossed!

Tleelove--great job!! I have been waitin to hear how you did, aren't you soo glad it's over? My friend got a 62.7...and I am soo hoping it is good enough to get her in somehow.

now we just have about a month to wait

I definitely agree with mangopeach. You gotta take A&P again. Nursing schools are such impacted programs so they are usually taking student with the highest GPA. So the higher, the better... Go for it and good luck to you!

Mango peach and Adra,

thanks for your inputs

I just applied to the BSN program at California State University Stanislaus for Spring 2011, but I haven't found anyone else yet who is also applying for this program. Good luck to everyone and anyone else who is a CSUS Stan hopeful let me know!

Hi everyone! First of all, CONGRATULATIONS to all those who have received their admissions letters!

I've applied to Texas Tech's second degree BSN program based in Austin, TX. It starts in January, and I STILL haven't heard anything, so I'm pretty antsy. I just took the TEAS V yesterday, and I'm hoping maybe they were just holding out until they got my scores...might be wishful thinking, but I'll hold onto whatever I've got! :p I haven't seen anyone else who's applied to this particular program, so I don't really have anyone with whom to compare notes, unfortunately.

Anyway, best of luck to all of you who are still waiting to hear from your programs!
