Frontliner, 11 year veteran RN, in the Emergency Department. For the last year and a half, I have been exposed to so much Covid I feel I'm so blessed. I have had it splash in my face, eyes and mouth. I have taken antibody test and just can't seem to test pos for any antibodies ... which rules me out for an asymptomatic "Super Spreader!" If my employer mandates the Covid Vaccine I will be looking for RN jobs that do not require the vaccine. I'm employed in North Carolina but willing to travel for Jobs that do not require the Vaccine. It's my body and my choice. This thread is for links and discussion of RN jobs that do not require the Covid vaccine. Stay safe all! You could die tomorrow from a drunk driver. So don't fear death, I do not, and you should not either. Fear what happens after death.

I've gotta know the significance of this. Please share.

?

We've been calling it the ED/emergency department for a long time. It seems to be big health system preferred lingo. Everything done by our big, illustrious healthcare systems is way too important to refer to it using diminutive language such as "room."

It's called the ER here, emergency room. In Britain it's Casualty or the Emergency Dept.

Leg over and Rumpy pumpy is just British slang for shagging and sometimes specific to regions.

Parents are British and they still speak in British slang at home which most Americans might consider a foreign language ???

Taking the original post at face value only...

Try telehealth.  One of our oncology nurses lined up a telehealth job when her medical exemption request was denied. She told me she isn't afraid of COVID, but I'm pretty sure most oncology patients are. She is an excellent nurse, and I'm sad to see her go, but telehealth is a more appropriate setting than inpatient oncology for an unvaccinated nurse.

I'm no troll LOL. Graduated from UNC Chapel Hill actually. I about got kicked out for being too Conservative though LOL. I'm just a realist though. Vaccines that go to 50% efficacy after just a few months don't sound to good to me, but if you feel you want to take the vaccine, to each his own.

Realist:  There are no vaccines that are 100% effective.  And many vaccines require regular boosters.  You do get your annual flu shot, don't you?  And you do realize that flu shot efficacy varies every year?  Hard to believe you actually graduated from nursing school.

You fellow RN's are pretty hateful with some of your comments? I was wondering if my post would bring out some "LEFTIST MENTALITIES." I didn't expect any less. If it makes your LIBERAL head spin, just pass on by this post and go hangout with your kind ?

We have a Politics Forum.  I suggest you post your political posts there.  Unless your goal is to stir the pot as you seem to be suggesting here.

Just don’t bother with New Mexico … all healthcare workers, regardless of setting, are mandated to vaccinate here. Between federal mandates ( OSHA, CMS and holders of federal contracts ) state and local public health mandates and private business mandates due to liability concerns and health insurance costs, I suspect you’re SOL.

ETA: I also happen to agree with the above posters that you are an obvious troll looking to stir up some shyte. Thread reported.

Why did you report this thread? As far as I can tell, the OP did not violate the terms of service—you did, but I don’t see where she did.

Covid misinformation is most definitely against TOS.

Re-read the original post: an ER nurse exposed to Covid the way he claims could not have been wearing any PPE, thus implying that Covid is not highly contagious and that vaccination is unnecessary. Either his scriptwriter got lazy or something got lost in translation. Or he’s just plain lying.

Then there is the fact that brand new members whose very first posts are deliberately inflammatory - as in attacking another poster - are strongly  suspected of being more interested in spreading misinformation or starting an entertaining fight than in a professional discussion. That suspicion is being voiced more overtly lately because it’s getting really, really old.

Thank you for answering my question.

My local vet does call Nnonatal nurses to help starting IVs on animals he is unsuccessful with starts. It may pay by the hour but perhaps you can develop a resume to distribute to vets all over your region.. Just an idea.

You would be surprised how many republicans are triple vaccinated because they believe in the science. The numbers are still evolving but there have been several studies that those vaccinated are a hell of a lot less likely to get hospitalized or die. Drowning in our own secretions wasn’t on any of my conservative families bucket list. Leave politics out of it please.

Hopefully any job you secure as an unvaccinated nurse will keep you far from vulnerable patients or coworkers.  Insurance work is often done remotely and independently. Tele healthcare might be an option.

Many Telehealth positions are starting to require it too. I had a patient that had to get the vaccine and she’s remote. Was given a deadline. Not sure if they feel the legislation will go through so start now or what but we have had many that were refusing before informing us they are now vaccinated.

I do not fear death in the slightest.

When that time comes I'd like to not face it drowning in secretions, unable to breath and with my organs shutting down

There are much better ways to die

Yes, you have rights. Your patients and their families also have rights including the right not to contract a highly contagious disease from you.
