Frontliner, 11 year veteran RN, in the Emergency Department. For the last year and a half, I have been exposed to so much Covid I feel I'm so blessed. I have had it splash in my face, eyes and mouth. I have taken antibody test and just can't seem to test pos for any antibodies ... which rules me out for an asymptomatic "Super Spreader!" If my employer mandates the Covid Vaccine I will be looking for RN jobs that do not require the vaccine. I'm employed in North Carolina but willing to travel for Jobs that do not require the Vaccine. It's my body and my choice. This thread is for links and discussion of RN jobs that do not require the Covid vaccine. Stay safe all! You could die tomorrow from a drunk driver. So don't fear death, I do not, and you should not either. Fear what happens after death.

I'm no troll LOL. Graduated from UNC Chapel Hill actually. I about got kicked out for being too Conservative though LOL. I'm just a realist though. Vaccines that go to 50% efficacy after just a few months don't sound to good to me, but if you feel you want to take the vaccine, to each his own.

I'll take that over 0% efficacy any day of the week.

I haven't lived this long to die from something preventable.

I agree, I too would take that over 0% efficacy. But the vaccines are a whole lot more effective than 50% at protecting against hospitalization and death. I feel it’s important to point out that the OP didn’t offer any source that supported his claim and didn’t even specify efficacy and protection against what. I view his unverified and unspecified number as simply yet another attempt to spread disinformation and create doubt about the vaccines.

I’ll post this again in the hope that someone actually looks at the real percentages, and not on OP’s unsupported, grabbed out of thin air claim.

I don't understand, either, why the OP considers a waning of immunity to be a deficiency in the vaccine. Immunity naturally wanes over time. It's how the immune system works. It's why we have to periodically get boosters against other diseases.

They get their medical news from You Tube or facebook.  I think that's how this happens.  Somebody gives them a simple explanation they can understand when one actually has to devote time and energy to actually understand what a vaccine does and if they aren't curious enough to be skeptical, it's just so much easier to go with the simple explanation.

Many of them believe Tucker Carlson is pretty much on par with Dr. Fauci when it comes to expert opinion on the pandemic.  I don't really blame them.  I blame greedy Fox News for knowingly lending credibility to outright lies.

You would be surprised how many republicans are triple vaccinated because they believe in the science. The numbers are still evolving but there have been several studies that those vaccinated are a hell of a lot less likely to get hospitalized or die. Drowning in our own secretions wasn’t on any of my conservative families bucket list. Leave politics out of it please.

Not at all surprised.

Presumably, most of the 90% of FOX employees who are vaccinated identify as republican.  Most of the prominent "conservatives" working against vaccinations, are, themselves, vaccinated.

Vaccination status is largely linked to education level and economic status.

I think that posters who post things about the vaccines that  OP did, don’t even want the vaccines to work. You never hear them express disappointment when for example infections surge or vaccine efficacy appears to wane with time. I think posters like him are destructive forces spreading fear and distrust.

I don’t think that they really bother to find out exactly how the vaccines work or how efficient they actually are. And they are efficient at protecting against serious illness and death. Even as they lost some efficacy, whether that is due to waning protection or the introduction of the Delta variant, they are still remarkably efficient.

Posters like OP tend to grab onto any headline that appears even a little negative regarding the vaccines, and they celebrate them with triumphant glee. They are not on our side. They are not on the side of public health. They are not hoping for this pandemic to end and lives being saved. They are simply a destructive, corrosive presence, here on this forum and in society in general.

1) I thought Americans talked of the Emergency Room, it is us Europeans who call it the Emergency Department.

Nope, we call it an ED also in the US.

Nope.  ER for me!  Never heard "ED" at work.  Eastern US.

I received my booster dose of Moderna about an hour and a half ago, and I'm still alive to post. It's a miracle.

I have heard it in the west as well.

The ER/ED issue is irrelevant; it isn't any kind of gotcha. Both are used in the U.S.

Non-healthcare workers might call it the ER in the US but everywhere I’ve worked has been an Emergency Department.
