If you are a nurse, or a future nurse, is your spouse/significant other in law enforcement?

Just curious to see if this is a legit pattern or if I've just been noticing it more lately.

I am a nurse with a law enforcement spouse.

Really? Never heard that stereotype. Not my experience at all. And I was friends with several people in the police field before dating one working in the field.

I have hung out with these guys for years. There's the steadfast family guy, and then there are the lotharios.

Most cops, law enforcement and FF I know have a nurse "thing".

I have many theories on this, and not all of them are good.

nope mine has his own insurance agency

My husband is a private investigator, but was a cop before he retired.

My husband is a truck driver.

But I've worked with many nurses who are seeing/married to police officers!

Hmmm... I wonder if this is why cops never give me tickets when I get pulled over while wearing scrubs...

Maybe it's why they pull you over.

"Well, I could give you a ticket for failing to have your turn signal on for the required seven blinks, but I'm feeling generous tonight, Ms...?"

Quite common in my ER. Nurse and paramedic, police officer, or firefighter.

And there is a "nurse thing." especially with ER nurses who probably have seen half the county's officers at some point during the year either stationed in the ER or bringing people in or watching some prisoner who wants a break from jail.

I'm on the app so cannot access the poll right now. But my husband is active duty military & I guess qualifies.

The base we are currently stationed at has many military/nurse couples. Maybe some chose nursing because it offers job opportunities anywhere (in theory).

Specializes in Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgical.

Nope. Hubs is an enginerd.

Or not. My dh and state trooper brother have both ticketed nurses who deserve it. Total myth that scrubs always get you out of a ticket.

It is.
