If you are a nurse, or a future nurse, is your spouse/significant other in law enforcement?

Just curious to see if this is a legit pattern or if I've just been noticing it more lately.

I am a nurse with a law enforcement spouse.

Nope. He's a Physicist. He's a total nerd. A sexy, outdoorsy, shy, nerd. Love him.

Well, you can always work at Dunkin' Donuts and meet plenty of cops, but that's not as badass as being pulled over.

So that's why so many nurses want to open bakeries as a side business!

I've gotten pulled over 3 times in 10 years. Once was because my license plate lights were out. I duct taped a flashlight to my bumper for 2 days until I got paid and could fix the bulbs (I was living paycheck to close to paycheck.)

Sweet! *cue canned laughter*

I haven't gotten pulled over for a bit but I have to say the stethoscope on the seat next to you does work.

My husband is a corrections officer. So yes, he is in law enforcement. :)

What always got me out of tickets was working at the county jail. I'd clip the badge on me & they'd let me go. :p

I have been pulled over in while in scrubs and was let go without an issue for speeding, a couple of times. I have also been pulled over and ask if he could give a nurse a break and he said, I didn't say I was going to give u a ticket?! One state cop ask to see my work ID, which I did have and got off. So I keep it in my glove box at all times. 😎

I was pulled over after work after picking my son up from childcare. I was speeding a tad. Truly whenever I drive down this divided highway I always see people driving faster than I was that afternoon.

He pulled me over and I quickly put my stethoscope next to me and put my nursing license next to my drivers license so he'd see it.

After chastising be for speeding He said, "I'm only giving you a warning...and you know why."

I said thank you officer! Whew!

My SO is in construction. He owns the company. I would not date a cop. At least not in my area. I do not want to offend the many nurses on here who are married to officers, but my personal experience is many in this area cheat on their wives. It is a well known fact around this town and I had one personally try and pursue me. He was married to a nurse. Our county deputies do not have the same rep and I am friends with several and their wives a couple of them are nurses. I am also friends with a couple who are both officers that work for the same dept., not the dept with the bad reputation. It was just my personal experience that soured me on the whole concept of ever dating one. I always liked a guy in uniform though. Lol.

My ex-husband works in HVAC and my boyfriend has a construction company so maybe I truly have a thing for this type of industry. The sexy man that works with his hands!!!!

I also want to say our fire dept guys have the same reputation. Back in the day a good friend of mine was married to a firefighter and these guys had codes to each other for when their wife visited and when their girlfriend was visiting. It was crazy. I always wonder doesn't it get exhausting for these guys? Juggling 2 women? Most guys have a hard time handling the one they have, and then they try to take on another. It blows my mind.

I am sure it is not this way everywhere, I think I just live in a corrupt area. And I am sure my experience is not even close to normal.

Oops

Heather I don't think it's just your area. I have hung out with really good cops and fireman and guys that are like what you describe. They have a rep as dogs a lot of times, but there are lots of dedicated family men.

And yes, a guy (or girl) who can fix things is gold.
