How many of you are for sure buying a nursing pin? How many of you are not buying one?
I already participated in my CON pinning ceremony in May. I didn't have my own pin at the time because the CON is unorganized and didn't consider us December grads lol...so I had to borrow one. I am graduating on Saturday () and I have until January 31, 2011 to place an order for one. It's going to be about $74 with tax + S&H. I know some new grads like to wear their pins on their badges at work, but I don't know. I just feel like if I order a pin, it's just going to sit in the box it came in and collect dust! What are your thoughts?

I know I'll never wear mine on the job and 99% of the time it will sit on a shelf somewhere.. but as the same time, it's a symbol of accomplishment and all the hard work that I've done. For this reason alone, I'll be buying mine when the time comes. Congratulations on graduating!

You could always add it to a shadow frame with your diploma!

Luckily, my school buys ours. I don't plan on wearing it after the ceremony, though. But that's a cool idea about putting it in a shadow frame!

Idk. I don't think pins have a places other than as badges and ribbons on Class A uniforms, etc. I'm not one for "flair" if you've seen Office Space. I pray we don't have a pinning ceremony. I look at my return to the full-time workforce, i.e. paycheck, as a symbol of my accomplishments. But this is just another negative opinion, I guess.

I'll get mine because I *earned it*, but I won't wear it past pinning day.

I don't care about the pin.
My diploma and license are good enough for me :)

some facilities will not allow pins to be attached to badges. That said, I have been nursing 15 years and now cannot recall if I even still have that pin. HMMMMM

I know I won't wear it, but I want to get it when it comes time next semester. Maybe I will eventually lose it or forget about it, but I'm afraid I'll regret not getting it. Once the ordering window is over, I won't get another chance to get it later.

I'm not sure about wearing it other than maybe to conferences or continuing ed. opportunities.

I graduate in May and I am definitely purchasing a nursing pin! I have wanted to be a nurse since I was a little girl and I want to always remember how happy I felt once I get pinned. It's a symbol of accomplishment. The shadow frame thing is an excellent idea. I will be sure to do that!!

YAY.
I bought my $115 nursing pin because my sorority pin has gotten really lonely in my jewelry box. I'm hoping my pins will spoon and smile.
