how much do you pay on student loans per month

Published

I owe a massive amount in loans, 33,000 . I'm just curious to how much others pay in student loans ? My goal is to pay it off in 5-10 years. Seems impossible right now though.

Following! I owe 40k and will start paying back in October. Right now, it looks like I'll be paying $330 a month for federal and $120 for my private loans.

I have about 10,000 left from my undergrad degree and 16,000 from my graduate degree. I pay a combined total of about 300/month. My goal is to pay off the grad school loan first because the interest rate is 6.8% vs the undergrad's 1.2%. Once I get the credit card paid off, I aim to put about an extra 500/month towards it.

$60 per month for my ADN. My BSN courses and pre med classes are paid without loans.

$100 for my LPN. I'm hoping to not add much with my ADN classes.

I pay $347.34 a month (total) to two different lenders. It used to be more, but I think a few of the loans got paid off. They switch hands so often that it's hard to keep up! If I were smarter, I would have paid them all off by now, but the amount is so small that I hardly notice it missing (they are automatic deductions).

I lived off my loans and only worked about 6-10 hours a week while I was in school. I owed over $40,000 at one point, but I quit paying attention after that because it made me feel overwhelmed. I owe about $15,000 now (4-5 years post-graduation).

I got a private loan from my grandparents and they allow me to pay $80 a month with no interest.

I lucked out.

Zero. I worked my ass off at two jobs and paid as I went.

However, I wouldn't consider 33k to be massive. The average college student comes out with about 27-29k in student loans.

$0. Straight cash homie, for unrelated undergrad AND nursing degree.

$0 Paying it off as I go, plus I deliberately chose affordable schools to attend without sacrificing quality. Went ADN to BSN, now in Grad school. I wish school was free for everyone who chose to attend and maintain passing grades, but that's another thread.

I also graduated with 0 debt. Went CC route starting as a LPN and worked all the way through grad school.
