June 2008 NCLEX support group

Published

This thread is for any upcoming graduates taking NCLEX in June of 2008.

To start off with I would love to hear if anyone is taking Kaplan, or Drexel or other prep courses and why did you choose the one you did? I am looking into them and I am just not sure which one is best and why.

Thanks!

I take mine June 17th. After I made the appointment, every time I thought of it I wanted to puke. I know how you feel. What is helping me is a lot of positive self talk..."I passed the test", "I am an RN", also visualizing myself sitting in front of the computer at the test site totally relaxed. Don't know if any of these strategies will work for you but they have definately calmed my nerves. Good Luck to you!

Good idea i need to do that! thank you..... this support group really helps....:tinkbll::tku:

Thank you! I am trying real hard. I do very well with positive self-talk until I take practice NCLEX tests and then I wonder what I have learned int he past 2 years of nursing school!!

Good luck on the 17th and let us know how it was. How far away from home are you going to have to travel to take the test?

I am taking my test in San Fransisco. I live about 2 hours from there, but got a hotel room for the night before so I don't have to drive that day. I am not going to take any study material with me, but rather just relax with a bottle of wine and a good book to clear my head. It is about a mile walk to the test center so the fresh ocean air will and short walk will release some anxiety...hopefully. I'll keep you all posted!

So I took the NCLEX at 8am this morning. I am still in a daze. It stop at 75 questions

I had about 10 SATA

I had a few math, which is freaking me out (because I heard that already assume you know your math and you should not have that many math questions)

I had tons of priority questions

Tons of med questions

I can't even remember everything I had because I am still in a daze

I can't stop crying. I am so trying to stay positive because I went in with GOD on my side and whatever is in his will is what will be the outcome.

I think I am still at peace with the outcome whatever it is pass or fail. but right now I totally feel like I failed this test.:cry: I just have to keep my faith nor matter what.

Well I guess I will know in 2 days
