June 2008 NCLEX support group

Published

This thread is for any upcoming graduates taking NCLEX in June of 2008.

To start off with I would love to hear if anyone is taking Kaplan, or Drexel or other prep courses and why did you choose the one you did? I am looking into them and I am just not sure which one is best and why.

Thanks!

WOOOOO.....you are way too ahead buddy.

We graduate in May and from what we are reading, are being told, and have seen statistically it isn't too early to start preparing. And since NSNA has discounts out now for students who graduate this spring for NCLEX prep courses it is most beneficial for broke students to take advantage of those discounts. So I don't think it is too early at all to be planning for NCLEX success. And it's Mrs. Buddy thank you *wink*

I'll start doing my Saunders book in Febuary, I don't want to wait to long to start preparing. I'm going to do Suzanne's plan. I can't believe its so close!:bugeyes:

Hi there everyone! I also am graduating in May. I just picked up a Kaplan study book and have been reading the first 2-3 chapters. I have to say that its definitely made me feel really insecure. I think throughout nursing school the NCLEX was in the back of my mind but our school has great passing rates supposedly so I just figured I'd be good to go with some studying etc...but yeah.. now im seriously getting nervous. Good thing I started now!!

How are you guys all doing? I see that some have started studying and some haven't... hmm.

I feel like our school is really non chalant in terms of telling us what we need to do after we graduate in terms of paperwork, review courses?, signing up for the NCLEX. Does anyone have any advice?

How long are you going to wait to take it??:uhoh3:

We get pinned May 16th, but our graduation isn't until June 4th. I think I'll take my Nclex sometime in July.

Hi! I am graduating in May also! I'm soooo excited but nervous. I'm not too worried about the NCLEX right now, but I'm worried about my classes! It's is getting so fast paced and I feel like I have a million papers due this semester. But if I can pass Med Surg I can pass anything! Anywho, I took the Hurst Review in Dec and will take it again in May. I loooooved it. It put everything I ever learned in nursing together..made it all fit. Our school required that we take a review course, and I'm glad.

Supernerd24, did you have to pay for it on your own? If so how much did it cost?

Yea I did have to pay for it. It was $350. But I reallly think it's worth it. You get a book and come Cds for your comp w/ other info on it. It's a five day class from like 9-5 or something like that. You can take it as many times as you want also until you take the boards. I took it in Dec and am gonna take it again when I grad before boards. The man that lectured us was HILARIOUS so it made the class awesome. They really know how to make it interesting. And if you don't pass the boards they will give you a refund ..but it shouldn't come down to that. I would look it up bc it's a really awesome review.

I graduate May 10th and we are being told we'll be able to test around the first week of June.

I've been keeping my ears peeled to all the NCLEX discussions cause it's scaring the ever lovin' tinkle out of me!!!

I think that since Suzanne's plan seems to have so much success, I'm going to start that mid February. I don't want to start too early, but I don't want to rush either.

:bugeyes::uhoh3::uhoh21::eek:

Ya'll might want to stand aside, cause I think I'm gonna :barf01:.
