June 2008 NCLEX support group

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

This thread is for any upcoming graduates taking NCLEX in June of 2008.

To start off with I would love to hear if anyone is taking Kaplan, or or other prep courses and why did you choose the one you did? I am looking into them and I am just not sure which one is best and why.

Thanks!

I'm so excited to join this thread!! :D It means we are one step closing to finally getting our RN! Yippie!

I graduated last week. I am taking Kaplan which starts next week. I haven't looked at any nursing material in the past week and a half- I needed some time to just relax! I plan set a strict schedule for myself starting Monday and to study M-F from 9am-2pm (of course with a lunch break!) I hope that's enough! I'm hoping to take the NCLEX in the middle of June.

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!

Hello Everyone!! I'm going to be a June test taker or maybe even July. I took my first NCLEX test in March and got 135 questions and failed. I'm doing Suazanne's plan and I really like it. I took some time off of studying b/c I was just so tired and down after I failed. So I got myself back up and started to do the studying thing all over again. The best of luck studying to everyone.

Hello to everyone! I graduate on the 16th of May (6 days away) and am hoping to take the NCLEX in the middle of June! I started orientation and NCLEX review classes at the hospital where I hired on to last week and the nurse who runs the reviews told all of the new grads to not study content, but rather just focus on doing as many questions as possible. I don't really agree with her because I feel that there is SO much content I need to review, especially stuff that I learned a year ago in my first semester of NS. I was wondering what some of your plans are as far as studying? Are you going to review content or just focus on questions? I am taking Kaplan at the end of this month and I know that content comes with the course, but I feel that I need to do more review on my own prior to that as well. Any advice would be so greatly appreciated! Congratulations to all of the new grads and good luck to ALL June NCLEX takers!!!! We can do this!! It's just one more hurdle to jump over before attaining our life long dreams of becoming RN's!!! :D

I Hope We All Pass!!! Goodluck Everyone Your All In My Prayers!!!!

hi guys! i was pinned this last thursday, received my att late friday night, and registered first thing saturday for june 6th!! i start work on june 23rd, so i gave myself almost a month to study and a good two weeks of leisure time to serve as the "eye of the storm". so far, i have been studying pretty minimally. i am doing the hurst review online, and i really like it, so far. i've also been (lightly) flipping through a saunders question book, lippencott's nclex made easy, a kaplan review book, and the nclex-cram book, all of which are at least three years old, which makes me very nervous. just can't afford to shop for books right now. i'm finding the saunders and lippencott questions to be really straightforward and easy, but the kaplan and nclex-cram questions to be pretty tough. i usually do great on tests, but i just hate when there's more than one good answer!! i am the most indecisive person on earth!! ugh!! we can do this though!!

Austin-

When did you apply to Pearson and pay the testing service (we use CTS)? It seems like you got your ATT quick. I registered/paid CTS and Pearson on Fri. Graduate on the 16th, I am hoping for a quick return.

Good luck.

Yes, it was a much quicker process than I had anticipated. We had to pay for the test 30 days before graduation, so it was early April. The fast turn around may have to do with the fact that the BNE is here in Austin, so they very likely received our notices of graduation the day after our ceremony. Good luck to you as well!
