This thread is for any upcoming graduates taking NCLEX in June of 2008.
To start off with I would love to hear if anyone is taking Kaplan, or Drexel or other prep courses and why did you choose the one you did? I am looking into them and I am just not sure which one is best and why.
Thanks!
Hi everyone!
First of all, let me say congrats to all the new graduates, I know you are all as relieved as I am.
I graduated in May and somehow - must have had good Karma - got a test day two days after I recieved my ATT. I had to drive 12 hours roundtrip but I needed to get it over with.
I took the NCLEX-RN at 8:00 on June 7th. I received 75 questions and the test cut off. My testing time was 46 minutes. The following is what I remember about the NCLEX. I only had 1 med calc question. I only had 1 or 2 drug questions. I has 15 ... yes 15 select all that apply! The majority were delegation and prioritization questions. I did not have any maternity questions and very few psych questions.
This morning, I slept in until 10:00. I checked Pearson's site and my results were already available. Therefore, I guess it is exactly 48 hours after the test, not 2 business days as I have read on this site.
Long story short....PASS!!!! WOOT!!!!!!
Good luck to everyone else, just relax and be confident and what ever you do, DO NOT 2ND GUESS YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Everyone!!
Okay so I took the NCLEX this morning at 8am... It shut off at 75 questions and it took me about 85-90 minutes. At this point I'm feeling pretty good about it..figuring that I had a TON of SATA and almost all prioritization other than that.
I felt like the studying I had done (Saunders, Hesi, and Kaplan, DelMar) did an adequate job of preparing me. The questions weren't difficult as much as the answer choices were tricky (in my opinion). I had expected the questions to be a step harder than the practice questions but it was actually moreso the answer choices seemed harder to choose.
Good luck everyone...I'll post back when I hear my results!! Just go in there and be CALM!! You ARE prepared to do this!!!
I am up late for this very same reason I cannot express to you how I feel But i can tell you one thing, your family will support you no matter what! so do not think about that just try and focus on the positive, I need to try and take my own advice, i am freaking out too 75 questionssss? thats it i kept telling my self okay your still in the game but it shut me out and the game was over, I do not know what to do with myself, but i will keep you in my prayers as well, I will find out my fait tommorrow and then I will know if I have to pick up my books and go again. All the best:confused:
Thanks so much!!!!!
I got my quick result from Pearson Vue today and I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am no longer a wanna be RN but a true RN -- I sobbed when I found out bc I had prepared myself for the bad news and not for the good news and they all poured out when I got the result!!!!! I will pray for the same result for you too!!!!!!!

My advice is to keep your chin up and enjoy work Lauren, i still did not get my results yet waiting and anticipating they said 48 hours is considered tuesday so i have to go through another night of stress and sickness i am over analyzing everything including how long it is taking them to give me my results....... best of luck at work today and on your test as well i will keep you posted....:loveya:
Same with me!!! Nothing yet, I'm really starting to get nervous! I've gone from feeling good about it during the test, to feeling okay about it afterward, to feeling unsure, and now I'm just plain sure that I failed. I started crying today when I got home and still no results, another sleepless night ahead, yay! It's ridiculous that we have to go through this, why can't our states just do the QuickResults!!!:bluecry1: Good luck! Hope you hear good news soon!!
"i got my quick result from pearson vue today and i passed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

congrats .... god bless you more.
I'm testing on June 17. I've been using Saunders, NCBSN, and NCLEX RN Made Incredibly Easy to prepare. I'm dong well with the Saunders and NCLEX, but the NCBSN is making me feel like an idiot, which is making me worry since this program is developed by the same folks who write the NCLEX.
I tested at level 3 on all of my ATI tests as well as my RN predictor, so I'm hoping I can just remember what I've already learned. I figure it's too little time to learn anything more.
I've done a review of the disease processes of each body system as well as ethics/legal, peds, ob, etc and will spend the next few days reviewing lab values and drug facts.
Everyone in my graduating class who has tested so far has passed. I'm hoping that winning streak continues.
Good luck and prayers to all of you who are getting ready to test!
Hi everyone!
I am testing this Friday and just graduated in May. Has anyone been taking the practice exams on the CDs from the review books (Kaplan, Saunders, Mosby)? I keep taking them and always score in the 60's, 64, 69... Does anyone know how that score range correlates with a likelihood of passing NCLEX? Thanks for any help. :imbar

I have used the Kaplan CD, Saunders CD, And Mosbys CD too. I have no idea what we need to get. Evryonoe talks about the Q trainers for Kaplan but not the CD aspect of it. I too would like to know what is considered good on the CD's. I take my test this FRI and I am scared to death. Dont know where I should be on answering them.
I'm new to this. With that said, I took my NCLEX today and honestly I don't feel very good about it. I took 119 questions, about 10 SATA, tons of infection control, tons of pharm, and for some reason I had about 7 maths question (one was to find time of delivery, and u were given drop factors and all the rest of crap), the rest of my questions were PRIORITY. I don't know what to think, all I can do is pray. I mean, I will know by tomorrow for sure.
Since this is the support group, lets just pray for each other.
If u haven't taken the test, it will be helpful to review INFECTION CONTROL, and get your math intact.
Good luck to everybody.
