Is someone justified in harassing someone to tell them if they got vaccinated or not?

Say you got vaccinated and choose not to stand in the middle of the street to tell the world. Yet friend or coworker keeps nagging you to tell them if you did or not

I actually agree with you on most points

That often doesn't lead to lively discussion...LOL

So were you referencing my clear disdain for Trump?

Well your not the only one who distains Trump but I will say as I have before that states about “all conservative” being MAGA hat wearing Trumpers paints almost half the adult US population with a very broad brush. While anecdotal stories should never be used to prove a point my own experience in California shows that the vaccine avoidant are pretty equally spread across all Demographics  with the biggest reason being the mixed messages   From official sources being the biggest reason for not getting vaccinated.

I am pretty comfortably not in the group that calls all conservatives Trumpers. I let people self identify.

I think that it's not the messaging itself that is creating the confusion, but the media representation and the political opinion that creates confusion rather than answers questions or calms fears.  I watch the daily press White House briefings, I watch the COVID team pressers.  The value of the average question from these national journalists, to the average American relative to covid, is appalling, IMHO.  It appears, quite often, that the journalists seem to be motivated not to clarify uncertainties but to elevate them.  The reporting is reflecting that, especially in regional markets.

It didn't have to be this way.

Me think some people may feel it will be justified to drag people out on the streets to give them the shot, or maybe shrug their shoulders if that would be implemented.

I had a patients family who are ardently anti vax remove their mum from the facility the two days we were doing the covid shots. I think they thought we would vaccinate their parent without the EPOAs consent (parent had dementia)

I have another family who is angry that their parent has refused the covid shot both times. They expected us to forcibly restrain their parent and have them injected.

I am as provaccination as they come and there is no way in hell (as much as I think the first family are completely bat ***, they actually asked me if the vaccine had made me magentic) would I have the parent vaccinated against their wishes, absolutely not. It goes against my own personal and nursing ethics.

As for the second family, they have been told that there is no way in hell any of my staff will be restraining their parent and having them forcibly vaccinated.

In the real world I don't make a practice of generalizing, however, on these forums I think most of us are discussing at the population-level. At the population level, these are the facts:

1. GOP polling in 3/2021 reported that only 15% of registered republicans are "Never Trumpers", 27% are "Die-hard Trumpers", and 10% are strong believers in QAnon. Further, 88% approved of Trump presidency.

2. The strongest predictor of vaccination status is political party.

I don't disagree that there is a major problem with mis/disinformation but its is impossible to separate that from the Trump administration becasuse they were at the center of is dispersion.

here is no scientifically sound reason to worry that there might be long term negative consequences to these specific vaccines when there have been none for any other vaccine. Ever.

Except for the fact that the Pfizer and Moderna vaccine (mRNA transport system) has never been used before. Add to the fact that the first time this new transport system is being used is with an Emergency Use Authorization with the drug companies having immunity against liability.

Prior to the Covid vaccine everyone is screaming "Don't trust Big Pharma". After the vaccine, everyone is "Trust Big Pharma, they wouldn't jeopardize people's health for profits".

None of your posted opinion is sound justification for not vaccinating during a pandemic.  The mRNA vaccines are safe and effective.

You should base your vaccination choices on facts and evidence rather than what you hear "everyone" screaming about wherever you hear that sort of thing.

No "everyone" wasn't "screaming" that.

3. The strongest predictor of covid vaccine hesitancy is political party. Let that sink in for a second because it is totally absurd.

Then why is California at 53% vaccinated and New York at 57% vaccinated? Using your logic, they should be near 80-90%.
