:rolleyes:Ok...SO I am curious because at least once a month, I don't want to be a nurse. Maybe something triggers that or IDK, but I actually think I could be a singer. Or just travel the world...but I would need alot of money for that. Maybe a farmer- I know sounds crazy but...sometimes I just want to be free like that.
I went to school for 6 years and studied art...then I made the switch because I knew it would be a "fall-back career.
Art is an unpredictable market so...
Now...wait a minute...for all you hecklers out there, I enjoy being a nurse, and this "fall-back" thing was when I first started. My view has changed, so don't post anything passing judgement.
So....yeah.... If you weren't a nurse what would you be? (esp. in this dry desert of an economy)
I actually would like several different things...If I were an RN instead of an LPN I would be a CNA instructor (inspired by my own cna instructor many years ago) or a state surveyor. Now, total opposite of nursing, I sometimes wish I had went to school to be an xray tech or a dental hygienist *they make more than RNs here in my area*, I love photography, I also LOVE a good thrift shop and Ive wanted to have one of my own for years and years. I wouldnt mind trying my hand at some farm work IF I had the time, money, help and equipment to do so. I like to cut stuff down and plant things even though Im not too good at it. And on this farm, Id like to have an acre of land to put rescue animals on. Another thing Id like to do is learn how to sew...well...relearn it really...because I would love to be able to make my own scrub tops/pants and sell them for cheaper than what you can buy at a store. I met a lady at work several years ago who made all her own scrubs and she had a huge suitcase and brought them in to our facility a few nights and she sold the most gorgeous handmade scrubs you ever saw in your life for around 3 bucks..yes...3 bucks each! She came in with a huge case full...left with an empty one. She had skill with a sewing machine is all I know.
Cowboys are cool!! One of the reasons I didn't care for Brokeback Mountain..I have nothing against being gay(I have relatives who are) but it ruined my cowboy fantasy.I think I found my soulmate on the internet. Although, I haven't entirely given up on cowboy.ETA: me being the cowboy. Not a cowboy soulmate. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
I work for the Funeral home as the makeup artist and funeral arrangement counselor. I think if I did not want to be a nurse, then I would work for the Funeral Home for the rest of my life. lol. It's a cool job!! I don't mind doing it even if I became a nurse, problem is, is there a conflict of interest?! hm..............
After a night of dealing with drug seeking whiners, I would love the peace and quiet of stocking shelves in a grocery store somewhere on night shift. The canned green beans would not yell at me or tell me to hurry up. I'm calmer just thinking about it.
Me too!!!!!!! Seriously, my coworkers and I talk about stocking shelves at night, listening to our Ipods, etc.......I seriously think I'd love it---!!!
I forgot to mention my coworkers call me "Betty Crocker" because I love to bring in cakes for birthdays or other occasions (and I like to bake from scratch only!) ......Having a cute little coffee shop with my goodies and cozy furniture ....nice! :) (and to make it even nicer, only open about 4 hours a day, Monday-Friday---LOL!)
Also, aside from having a cute lil' bakery or stocking shelves at a grocery store, I would REALLLLY love to have the job of the guy (Guy Fierri (sp?) on Food Network who drives allll over the country, tasting allll the yummy things at "Divers, Drive-Throughs, and Dives".....what a **FUN** job!!!
But on a REALISTIC note, I did actually take time off before going to RN school to learn CODING---OMG, it was sooo hard for me! I thought I'd be good at it because of being so detail-oriented, but ---no wayy!!
I'd be the person who does displays in trendy fashion retail establishments and/or china/silver/housewares sections of department stores. I did a little of that as a salesperson and :redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe it! or. . .
Archivist at the Huntington- Illuminated morificecripts, Books of Hours hello!-- or was that the Southwest Museum and it's scads of navajo blankets, baskets, pottery? I guess either one would be OK or. . .
One of those who host a TV show requiring them to travel the world and report back to the LocalTVStation. ( Can that even be called a "job"??? )
