IF you WEREN'Ta nurse, what would you be???

Published

:rolleyes:Ok...SO I am curious because at least once a month, I don't want to be a nurse. Maybe something triggers that or IDK, but I actually think I could be a singer. Or just travel the world...but I would need alot of money for that. Maybe a farmer- I know sounds crazy but...sometimes I just want to be free like that.

I went to school for 6 years and studied art...then I made the switch because I knew it would be a "fall-back career.

Art is an unpredictable market so...

Now...wait a minute...for all you hecklers out there, I enjoy being a nurse, and this "fall-back" thing was when I first started. My view has changed, so don't post anything passing judgement.

So....yeah.... If you weren't a nurse what would you be? (esp. in this dry desert of an economy)

I'd be the person who does displays in trendy fashion retail establishments and/or china/silver/housewares sections of department stores. I did a little of that as a salesperson and :redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe it! or. . .

Archivist at the Huntington- Illuminated morificecripts, Books of Hours hello!-- or was that the Southwest Museum and it's scads of navajo blankets, baskets, pottery? I guess either one would be OK or. . .

One of those who host a TV show requiring them to travel the world and report back to the LocalTVStation. ( Can that even be called a "job"??? )

Oh, now I'm just going to cry! Working with illuminated morificecripts with those gorgeously decorated covers from the time of Eleanor of Aquitaine or the Wars of the Roses, researching Old English and French tales, ballads, etc. - I would chew off my left arm to get a job like that!

I'm such a geek....

I would love to be a health care chaplain but job prospects are even dimmer than they are for nurses these days.

I'm in school right now, but if I weren't going to be nurse I'd be a housewife. It was a great job and I loved doing it for many years. Hoping to do some of that on (at least) a part-time basis once I complete school.

I have no idea! I never made a plan B for my life because plan A (nursing) WAS going to work out! Definitely not a desk job...I know that for sure.

I worked as a loan processor and then was self employed while waiting on the list and attending school. I'd go back to working for myself I guess. But I really love what I do now!

Some kind of job where I wouldn't be responsible for the care/safety/life of another human being.

My first-ever job was a nanny and I worked in child care right up until I started working in health care. Recently while looking for a job, I decided that if I didn't get hired in any of the various health care jobs I applied for, I would take some random retail or waitress job just for the heck of it.

But as far as alternate career.... some kind of writing/editing or marketing. Loved working on the newspaper in HS and I'm pretty persuasive. :)

I would be an Economist :)
