HEY GUYS! YESTERDAY I SAT THE TORTUROUS NCLEX RN, WAS SO HOPEFUL THAT THE COMPUTER WOULD SHUT DOWN BY 100. IT JUST KEPT GOING AND GOING. WOULD YOU ALL BELIEVE I RAN OUT OF TIME AT 249. THE QUESTIONS WERE NOT THE PROBLEM, IT WAS THOSE DREADFUL ANSWERS. THEY WERE NOTHING LIKE THE PRACTICE ONES ON THE CDs OR FROM THE BOOKS. I GOT THE WORST EXAM EVER WRITTEN. I LEFT CRYING, I COULD NOT BE COMFORTED. I SEARCHED THE THREADS FOR ANYONE WHO RAN OUT OF TIME AND ALL STATED THEIR COMPUTER STOPPED AT A NUMBER, NO ONE ELSE RAN OUT OF TIME. I FELT LIKE THE BIGGEST FAILURE. I KNEW THERE WAS NO HOPE FOR ME SO I GOT UP EARLY AND STARTED STUDYING WITH THE INTENTION OF RETAKING IN 6 WEEKS.
GUYS, LATER IN THE AM I CHECKED THE BOARDS WEBSITE TO CONFIRM MY FAILURE. I PASSED, I PASSED, I PASSED. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!! I PASSED!!!!!
I AM WRITING THIS THREAD AS ANOTHER REINFORCEMENT THAT YOU CAN PASS AT ANY STAGE FROM 75 UP. NEVER GIVE UP. ALSO WANT TO SEND A BIG THANK YOU TO SUZANNE 4 FOR THE NOTES AND INSISTING THAT WE READ THOSE RATIONALES. THE RATIONALES WERE MORE IMPORTANT, IN MY CASE, THAN THE GETTING THE QUESTIONS RIGHT.
I FEEL SO RELIEVED. THANKS GUYS FOR ALL YOUR NCLEX EXPERIENCES, THEY GAVE ME COURAGE AND CHEERED ME UP WHEN I WAS SO DOUBTFUL.
I PASSED, PASSED, PASSED.

Hmmm, maybe I just don't know anybetter but that sounds like a miracle to me. Didn't know someone can pass with the time running out on them.

GOOD LUCK ON YOUR FUTURE CAREER!!!!!!
(For those yet to come: My great aunt took the NCLEX-PN years ago. She concentrated a little too hard & ended up not finishing & didn't pass.
My grandmother (her sister) & my grandmother's daughter (my aunt) took the NCLEX-PN the same day & both of them passed. My great aunt did not give up. She retook the NCLEX-PN the next available time & passed.
So, the moral of the story is: if you run out of time (or even if you don't) if you happen to not pass, no matter how you may feel (you know my great aunt had to feel awful with her sister & niece passing & she didn't....DON'T GIVE UP!)

thank you for telling us your story and encouraging those who are taking the nclex soon that you can pass with a high number of questions! 200+ questions is not the kiss of death. great job!!

I guess its okay that your yelling at us [ALL IN CAPS] since your over whelmed with joy & relief, and rightly so. CONGRATS! :chuckle
BTW, back in 1998 my NCLEX exam was in similar length to yours. I passed the first time, too. I was bummed out that it did not stop at the magical #75, yet I felt confident that I passed d/t the difficult type questions. I was told that sometimes an exam will extend to the max length to act as a test pilot for future questions on the NCLEX. Don't know if that is true, or not?
