  1. I got the job offer today!!!! Thanks for your suggestions. Although the interview was tough, I guess I must have done okay for them to make the offer to me. It was a team interview, and I had about 6 interviewers!!!! It was really intimidating at first because they were taking turns asking me questions, and then were jotting down notes on everything I said! It seemed like I was in there forever....but by the end of it, I felt good about it. It seemed like this was a very sought after position and thats why they wanted to be extra selective. Well, I am so glad to have got the offer, and the pay is pretty good too!
  2. Thanks for responding.
  3. Hi! I really need some help preparing for my L&D interview. What kind of questions should I expect? What should I make sure to ask? Are they going to ask me questions about my goals and expectations or you think they may ask me real knowledge based OB questions such as priortizing laboring women based on their complications....I dont know how to prepare since this is my first real interview....Please help! This is a nurse residency/intern position which is perfect for me since I am a new grad, and do not have prior experience with L&D. This is a structured 3-6 month program that combines classroom sessions with training with a preceptor. I am really nervous because my interview is on Monday. Any helpful suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
  4. Hi PedsRN, Thanks for responding. I am in Georgia aswell. I was looking into Gwinnett Medical & Emory. Can you give me some more info on the hospitals that you looked into. I am planning to call the recruiter at the hospitals that I am interested in to find more info. The first time that I called I spoke to the Nurse Residency coordinator. So I will give it another shot with the recruiter and keep you guys posted.
  5. Hi, I graduated with my BSRN in May, and recently passed my boards in Sept. But now I am having a hard time finding a job. My top choice hospital says that their new grad programs start twice a year, one in aug (for the may graduates), and one in march (for the december graduates). So basically if I want to work for them, I need to wait until MARCH!! This is ridiculous to me.........I never thought I would have a hard time finding a job as an RN, and thats why I decided to take some time off after graduation and didnt secure a job before I took my boards. But I am just not ready to wait around after having passed the boards for 4 more months before I start to work....There is just something wrong with this picture. Other hospitals have similar programs for new grads that only start around twice a year.....so I dont really have a choice. I dont know what to do.....Any advice???:uhoh21:

  11. Hey guys! I took my boards yesterday and am just in a daze....I have no idea how I did. The computer stopped at 92. When it kept going after 75, I just wanted to cry...I felt sick walking out of there...and all day yesterday. I hate this waiting period. My state participates in quick results...so do you think I will find out tomorrow morning (48 hrs from when I tested), or I'll have to wait until monday. I dont have a good feeling about this because a lot of the stuff on the test did not seem familiar....I just had to make some educated guesses...I studied as much as I could, so I dont know what else I could have done. I used both Saunders and Kaplan. Oh..God...I really hope that I passed so I dont have to go through this again...please pray for me...
  12. To answer scorpilisa~ I'm not sure what scores on Saunders since I never took their exams but only a few times and scored high 70's. Kaplan 65% is true. I would focus on the rationales! and I would use the scores to see if I at least improved my scores or not. If they were going up, then yeah I was retaining something, if they were going down, things needed to be looked at closer and focused on that area. Tiffany Thanks for responding Tiffany!!
  13. I was wondering what a good score on those Saunders quizes is too...?? I know that on Kaplan, if you can get above a 65, then there is a good chance of you passing the boards. But I wasnt sure about Saunders. Is above a 65 good on Saunders too??? I am taking those 100 Q tests on the Saunders CD and I am getting around 60 - 65.
  14. I am taking my NCLEX on Sept 23 aswell. I agree with the poster that said that you can never really feel like you are 100% prepared and that you've done everything there is to do. I am really nervous too as the test date approaches........but I still have 10 more days to review as much as I can. I am getting the same scores as you on the practise exams, and as far as I know, Kaplan indicates that if you score above a 65% on their exams, then there is really good chances of you passing.....And I havent known a single person who has scored in the 90s on Kaplan tests.....GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!
