  1. I've been working as a nurse for a year and a half now .. was wondering what you guys thought of making buisness cards to keep them handy because I was at a social networking event last night .. and i didnt have anything to pass out. and if any nurses here has buisness cards printed. what do you put on them? do you put your home address or the hospital where you work at? thank you!
  2. Im sorry that you failed! relax for a couple of days. and start another plan. I failed the first time with 75 questions.... and the second time it stopped at 75 so I thought I failed. For the second time around ... I bought the NCBSN program online -- did all the questions in each chapter. And about 3 weeks before my exam .. I bought the Mosby's CAT online and did questions. The last 3 - 4 days before my exam .. I used the Kaplan Question Trainer CD. Along with using the NCBSN program I was also using the Springhouse NCLEX 3000. Make sure you go over the rationale -- and jot down notes which you can refer back to them if something comes up. You can do this!!!
  3. I only got 2 math questions and about 3 - 4 select all that apply. One of the math questions was a titrating question and the other was amount of fluid intake on a child. I stopped at 75 and passed as well.

  5. I would say the baby with yellow pigmented eyes .. because that represents jaundice. The only reaspond i picked ths is because a 24 hour old baby who lost 3 oz is normal .. baby tend to lost a little weight the first day of life. I believe the equation for infant weight loss is initial weight x present weight / initial weight correct me if im wrong.!

it is a indescribable feeling when you witness a new life entering this world. I have always been fascinated in childbirth because I have alot of respect for what women have to go through. Ever since my capston in L&D I have not had any trouble with helping both the women and the partner through the process. Most family asks me why i chose this field that barely any men decide to pursue....i tell them the same thing everytime.. and they always give me respect for it. if you can .. please check out the website I did for my final senior project. I decided to create this topic because I have had experiences where the partner was not really invovled in the care of their laboring partner. http://www.geocities.com/fathersrole there is a survey at the end. please give me feedback if posible.
  7. I am not at home right now to tell you which ones needed more practice. But I remember I had 3 below the normal ... 1 above .. and the rest were near the normal range. What I did this time was I studied questions using NCLEX 3000 by Springfield, I bought the NCBSN practice for 8 weeks, and I also used Mosby's CAT the last 2 weeks of my studies. I failed the first time with 75 questions.... when I took my 75 questions the second time .. I thought I failed because I didn't feel it was able to determine my compentency level. Keep on doing questions .. read the rationales .. jot down information that is unfamilar with you. I am sure you can do this. Hang in there!
  8. NCLEX 3000 by Springfield is a good program too. I did 75 questions twice a day. The rationales are good at explaining. But I also did the Mosby's CAT together as well so I get a good amount of questions from different programs.
  9. It is good to hear you are doing all you can to pass the NCLEX. I would suggest continue doing questions until tomorrow night. Or maybe Sunday afternoon. I stopped doing questions the day before my exam ... at around 3 - 4 pm then I vegged on the couch and watched TV for the rest of the evning. It seems as if you are doing good on your Mosby's CAT. Note that it stops at 75 questions everytime so it can show you the probability. Also ... if you want to see what subject the CAT program wants you to study more then they ask you to do another set of 75 making it a total of 150. So far your scores are good! on my first try i got a 82%. and then 50% for the second try. You are doing great! Keep on doing questions on the computer ..! You can do this!!! let us know what happens.
  10. I felt the same way!!! I just found out I passed today. I got 75 questions on my exam on Tuesday. I got 2 math questions - one that was very easy I thought and the other was a titrating questions. I think I remember the pneumonia question on my exam but it was part of an answer. I am sure you did fine. I felt that I failed because I didn't think 75 questions was able to determine my compentency. Relax now -- try to get your mind off of the exam .. if you dont .. you will lose sleep and start thinking crazy ... like I did!

Hi everybody. My name is Ken. I just found out I passed my NCLEX and can finally call myself an RN. I got hired in the Labor and Delivery Unit in California. I am excited to start my job. Its good that more males are in the nursing field right now! Just thought I'd introduce myself! -Ken
  12. It is helpful but there are repeat questions after the second or third take on it. But you can download the PDF file and review the questions at a later time. The first time i ever took the Mosby's CAT i got a 82% of passing. followed by a 50% but after that it was at about 92%. My suggestion would be to take the tests without reviewing right after. But if you are unsure about a question just refer to it in the answer sheets if you see the repeat question again. Mosby is helpful in terms of doing more questions .. and reviewing rationales. I also did Kaplan Training cd on my last day of studying. I only did the first 2 kaplan tests. and I got 50%'s on both of them. You can do it! I know you can!
  13. NCLEX #2 I took the exam on Tuesday ... I just found out my results! I PASSED!!!! I passed with 75 questions... it has been the most stressing and agonizing 3 days of my life. I failed the NCLEX the first time with 75 questions ... and then I passed the NCLEX the second time around with 75 questions. Just have faith in yourself. I thought I failed again because it stopped me at 75 questions! Thank you to everybody on this site for the support. Everybody on here definately understands each other better than people who arnt taking the NCLEX. Now I can proudly call myself Ken RN !!!! WooOHoo! L&D Nurse BABY!
  14. what state did you take the NCLEX at?
  15. Similar? I dont know about similar . but it was RANDOM . it tried to sneak in a herbs question -- of course I missed it. It was about the a pt with SLE and when would the nurse intervene and I think the answer is when the client says Euchinecea calms her down. That was out of no where. Now come to think of it .. I got a few wrong! O GOSH! I am in California. Hopefully I'll find out in 3 days if not longer.
