  1. which one would you consider abnormal and would attend to first? a 16 hour old babie with yellow pigment in the eyes? or a 24 hour old babie who lost 3oz?
  2. I also have another question... which one would you consider abnormal and would attend to first? a 16 hour old babie with yellow pigment in the eyes? or a 24 hour old babie who lost 3oz?
  3. Thanks everyone for replying back to my post.. I didn't notice until today the massive spelling errors that I had made on the previous post.. Haha.. I wrote the post right after I got back from the testing center.. I guess I was really worried, anxious, crazy?? not sure how to put into words but it was definitely a very unsettling feeling... I decided to stop worrying about the exam beacuse I cant change what is already done and instead went out on friday night..=) BTW, the Emergency was in a disaseter scenario.. and after reading everyones opinions I think I got it right by picking the patient who was conscious.. I feel a lot more at ease after reading everyon's comments.. Thankss... i guess I will know the answer tomorroww YIKES!
  4. I took my nclex this morning.. My computer shut off after 75 questions.. I THINK I FAILED... there were tons of priority question, safety precaution and enviroment, 1 med ( real easy) , 3 check all that applies. I went home and check the answer and I knew that I failed beacuse I have a feeling that I did horrible in the safety and infection control. Don't you have to pass all content area in order to pass? There were questions about mycoplasma pneumonia..which I was not sure about... The questions that they ask you on the NCLEX exam isnt so difficult However, it is the ANSWER choices that totally blew my mind!!! Even though I knew the content to a certain topic I was having the hardest time picking an answer beacuse they were soo tricky.. I have a question.. if in case of a emergeny.. who would u attent to first? a patient who is unconscious with dilated and fixed pupil or a patient who has eccohymosis and ridgit abdomen? I would guss the second one beacuse of internal bleeding?
  5. it was in my nlcex.. I think i failed =T
  6. if a patient has pneumothorax intermittent bubbling in the water seal chamber is expected. However, if there is continuous bubbling indicates an air leak in the system. How would u check ?? if you clamp the tubes and there is absence of bubbling in the water seal chamber does this indicate air leak in the system? or is it presence of bubbling in the water seal chamber after it is clamped?
  7. thanks that was very tricky.. but i think it is hypocalcemia too =T
  8. if the question address signs of cushing syndrom is it thinning of hair in scalp or hypocalemia? ahhhh
  9. I am taking Nclex on a friday when can I find out my result?? will I be able to find out over the weekend or do I have to wait till tuesday? I live in NYC
  10. I am only studying from saunders comprehensive review and Kaplan question trainer cd.. do you think that this is sufficient materials to prep for the nclex? I am consistently doing 100-150 questions a day from the saunders CD.. but I feel like I should be using other sources.. Also, I am in the ncsbn course from learningtext.com but I am doing horrible in it.. Is it just me? I feel like their questions are sort of weird...but if they are the makers of the nclex shouldn't I be concentrating on their materials more than anything? My main focus right now is just saunders and kaplan cd... What do you thinK?
  11. Thank you all for replying back~ I think I will do more practice test and if it does not improve then I will take your advice and reschedule..I think few extra days will help me feel more prepared and confident..
  12. Thanks for replying back to my question...yea.. I dont feel like I am completely ready to face the real test next week. If you do fail how long is the waiting period? I heard it was 90 days? I guess I rather spend one more week of studying instead of risking it to take it again in another 3 months.
  13. Hi~ Im schedule to take the nclex on sept 23 but I'm having doubts. I've been only getting 50-60 percent on the kaplan practice test and 60+% on the saunders book. Would it better to move the test a week later to sept 30th?
  14. Thank you everyone for replying to my question! I feel a lot better knowing that other people had trouble with them. I don't think I will use the eri as a study guide for the nclex. I will just stick with the saunders and kaplan =)
