The wonderful thing about nursing is that it is open to everyone of all ages. Please give a cheer to all the people who believe that age is not a factor in learning. And, to all the people who strive for knowledge regardless of age. How old were you when you started nursing school?

Kudos to everyone for making it through; I am especially inspired by all the stories from mature students. About five years ago, I met a Nurse encouraged me to go back to school; she said students 30+ often make excellent nurses because of their maturity level and previous life experience. And I'm not taking anything away from the younger nurses, because you are super impressive too!! But I find it very inspiring to see people who have managed to go back to school with kids, family, and other responsibilities! Good for you guys :)!!!! I am hoping to enter the PSW to RPN Bridge by 27, and be an RPN by 29 :)! I feel like I am starting a new chapter in my life!

I was 19 when I switched from Computer Science Engineering to Nursing (quite the switch, I know) ! I'm graduating this December, I will be 24 years old :).

I'm 33 and I start nursing school in May ?

I'm 36 and I just started LPN school. With God's will I'll have my BSN by 40.

I'm 22. I have a Bachelor's degree in Health Science Admin. Started off as a pre-nursing major when I first started college. Now after my bachelor's, I'm back to trying to get into nursing school. A long process, but I feel like it will be worth it.

22 currently 41 will have BSN by 43....and will be able to say ive been a CNA HHA LPN RN with associates and RN with Bachelors. Also a first responder and EMT

Specializes in ortho, hospice volunteer, psych,.

106.

No seriously, I was just shy of being thirty. I already had a degree in a totally unrelated area, but I already had many of my required credits. I had to get some math and science credits plus A&P over the summer, and I was set to go. That summer was a nightmare but I did it! I think going back to my old university helped.

I was 19 am nw 22 and graduating this July. Diploma in nursing DN in Tanzania

You can do it punkymamaof5! I am impressed with what you are doing with all those kids! Mine are grown and I complain about how hard it is and only in first semester of ADN! :geek::yes::sarcastic:

I started an RN program in 2010 ... Twice...I'm 58!!! And thinking about going back. Am I out if my mind? I don't think of myself as 58. That sounds sooo old. Guess I'd have to give up my Disney annual pass for awhile to back to school. ? just a kid at heart! My hubby is an RN and hates it. Now he's a realtor about a yr. making no money. I'm the bread winner. Hmmmm. Still thinking about it. Hate to quit work and no income stinks!

I began taking prerequisites at 42. I just got my RN and I'm 46. I am going to pursue my BSN and I will most likely be 50 when I am done.

I'm 27 and starting pre-req's and finishing my current bachelors (Criminology lol). If I get into a 1 year BSN program I'll start in Fall 2016 and be an RN by 2017. Otherwise it's a two year program for ADN then onto BSN so I'm looking at 2018ish. I'll be 30-31. I'm loving reading about all these older women going back and making it happen :yes:
