  1. Yes, I felt that way in nursing school. I did the only thing I could do, I studied & studied some more. Why don't you devote like two hours a day while on break to studing & answering NCLEX questions. In nursing there is always something to study. Even after you graduate, you'll still have to study for the NCLEX.
  2. LPN 1 year experience. $20.50 per hour first job. Now, I make $22.50 per hour weekdays. $26.00 per hour weekends at one job. And $24.50 per hour at another job.

In nursing you have to learn to brush off a lot of things. Sometimes patients don't like or say rude things to you. Sometimes families don't like you. Sometimes jobs just aren't the right fit. As long as no disciplinary action has been taken against you, your license isn't in jeopardy, and your hireable some place else I wouldn't worry about. I would look on the bright side at least you don't have to deal with that DON again.
  4. Everyday in nursing you pray for a good day. I pray that nobody codes, or has a heart attack, or stroke, or something like that. The only thing that gives me peace is my training. I know that if something did happen I've been trained to handle it. The other I learned is that I am one person. I try to get everything done in my allot time. If I'm not able then that is why there is 24 hr care. Somethings can be passed on to the next shift.

That is a whole lot to do for such a little mistake. If I was the DON I would have just said hello to you inside the room & then introduced you to the son, & kept it moving. People make the biggest tado about nothing.
  6. You should go to you tube. There is a website called simple nursing. He has lots of nursing videos and he breaks down prioritizing.
  7. When you have a patient and they look into your eyes and say that they are so grateful for the help that you have given them. Also, when I got the privilege to hold a patients hand as she died. It's the little things that gives this job so much meaning. I love nursing, and I didn't know it until I became one.
  8. I took my NCLEX PN on April. 7th. In my state they do offer the quick results in 48 hours. Our licenses are posted a either the same day as the quick results or the next day on the BON. So, I took my test and decided not to do the PVT trick or purchase the quick results. I had decided that the NCBSN was not getting another dime out of me. I would just wait the 3 days to see if my name showed up on the BON. It did. Anyone else use tthe wait & see approach.
  9. Passing school does say something. It says that you tenacity and perseverance. You just need to use that same tenacity & perseverance to get you through the finish (NCLEX) line. I couldn't afford those expensive study tools either. What I did use though was the NCBSN learning extension comprehensive review. I bought the 8 week course for $100. I passed my NCLEX with 85 questions. They also offer a 3 week course for $50 & a five week course for $70. It helped so much. It goes over everything that you learned in school. This review is also written by the people who write the NCLEX! So, who better to study from then the people who write the test. This made a world of difference. Good Luck!
  10. What?! 70%!!! I wish my school did allow 70%! At my school an 80% was the lowest that you could with NO rounding. Consider yourself lucky.
  11. What kind of bullying would the first nurse do?
  12. I'm doing it but only because the waiting list for the RN program is 4 1/2 years.
  13. When I started running out of time I did the points to remember and took the tests. I read every rational. Even the ones I got right. I also studied the information in the question if I got it wrong. I passed the NCLEX with 85 questions in 2 hours.
  14. I used NCBSN 8 week course for $100.00. They are the people who write the test. I passed the NCLEX-PN in 85 questions. I recommend it to everyone.
  15. Try the review from the NCBSN. Their review is awesome. First they are the ones who writes the test. 2nd you get over 1,300 test question. 3rd they are not as expensive as some reviews I have seen. They also give you detailed rational explanations! Good Luck!
