Need Advice
Hello Everyone, I need some advice. I applied to my hospital's ER 3 yrs ago and I was interviewed by the manager and she did not hire me, im guessing because at that time it seemed that i was job hopping. I work for a hospital who owns 4 other hospitals and i have worked in 3 of them. I am now currently back at the first hospital and have stayed at my dept for 1.5 yrs however i still really would like to go to ER but she is still the current manager. My question is what should i do. Should i reapply hoping she wont remember me. should i apply and bring up that she interviwed me before and did not hire me or should i stay at my dept longer. Pls help me. thank you

Found a Knife, Scared
another question, i wanted to ask you guys, i was told by the police to discard the evidence the weapon but I refuse to do so because if anything happens to me that is evidence. They didnt even do fingerprints, I have contacted HR and have followed chain of command. I will not give up until this is resolved, I was even thinking of getting a lawyer at this point. What is everyones opinion? I dont feel safe going back to work but my manager seems like I definitely cannot miss work. My concern is what if we dont find out. someone else either his friends must know who did this right? I hope it eventually comes out. could this be a group effort

Found a Knife, Scared
Hi Everyone, I am needing some advice. I had a confrontation about a few months ago with another employee that resulted that employee transferring to another unit. However his friends still work with me in my dept and it has been hell After being off for a week, I opened my locker which had a lock and found a huge knife positioned there. It does not belong to me and either I accidentally left my locker open or someone picked my lock which looks like an easy thing to do according to youtube. I feel that this is a huge threat to my safety. I filed a police report and everything. Along with alerting management. However the hospital police states they cannot do anything about it. I told them if anything happens to me they will be responsible. My question is with all the shooting and stabbing in the workplace, schools ect, i dont want to take any chances. What is the probability we will find out who did this? What else can I do? I want them to find out who this person is because something like that is not a joke. I am willing to do everything. Thank you all in advance.

CPAN Certification Help
Hi Everyone, maybe someone can help me. I would like more info regarding the CPAN (Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse) Certification. Once you take this and pass, 1. can you put the title behind your name, 2. do you have to keep retaking it or just pay a renewal fee 3. Is it worth it. Thank you all

I need HELP given ultimatum, short term jobs on resume, mgr changed schedule
Thank you so much for your reply. yes, i actually told her in the beginning about my other job and it was fine and dandy until I was done with orientation and she said I must work the 5 days because they are short staffed. I'm very saddened because I really thought this was the job for me and I was sacrificing the distance and drive, I even made a big purchase thinking this is it, I will retire here. She is a new manager only one month there but she is not having it at all. Her attitude is a take it or leave it... I will take your advice about the resume, thank you so much for that and thank you for listening.

I need HELP given ultimatum, short term jobs on resume, mgr changed schedule
Hi everyone, I need some help, I have worked at a company that owns/affiliated with 4 different hospitals. I have worked for 3 out of the 4 for short periods of times, 2014-2016 with breaks in between lasting only 4 months each. I don't know whether I should list those on my resume as it looks like I am job hopping. The last one only lasted 2 months and I actually also need your advice for that. During the interview they told me I would be working 3 12's but after my orientation the manager pulled me to the side and stated that i have to work 5 days per week. This job is an hour away and i really couldnt work the 5 days because I also have another job where I have been for about 2 years outpatient though. I didnt want to give that up since that is my longest RN job so far. She gave me an ultimatum and said either you take it or leave it. I resigned hoping she would at least budge and work with me. I honestly regret it because this last one was my dream job but it seems that she has more conditions for me. Should i beg for my job back, should I include it on my resume since i really want that dept next time. Please help. Thank you

Please Help, I want to apologize to my old manager,Would you apologize to your old manager
Hello Everyone, I really need your help and opinion. I left my last job about a couple years ago and left on a very bad note with the manager. I have been thinking about it all the time as I am not that kind of person. The way I left was, I literally quit on the spot on the day that she needed me most due to other reasons and circumstances that I feel very badly about. I deeply regret doing so as she was a kind person. I dont want my job back as I have a currently great job right now, but I want to make amends. I want to know if I should apologize and if so what can I say and how can I say it. Please help me. Thank you in advance. Thank you

Please Help, new Nurse, don't know what to do, transferred
Update: I just wanted to say, I am very thankful to God in every way. I stayed with that hospital for a little longer and left. I was offered a position elsewhere & I would have never dreamed of even getting this job with a very prestigious company. It was truly a blessing in disguise. I am really happy with my new position and I would have never found it without all the chaos that has happened in the past. In all the ways always look for the positive and the bright side. I believe things happen for a reason. I thank God for everything, Amen.

How many jobs/units until you found your "niche"
Hi everyone, I noticed there are many many nurses in this forum. This can be fun or not but I wanted to know how many jobs/units did you endure before you found your "niche" and what unit. Looking back are you glad you went through it, did it make you a more versatile nurse? I know of a few managers who would tell me their stories of what they went through to get to where they are. I hope this post would be inspiring and give hope to those that feel like they just can't find theirs. Thanks in advance, =0)
