How old were you when you started nursing school?
I graduated with my LPN when I was 21 years old. Got married and raised two sons, then finally decided at age 47, it was time to get my RN. Was accepted to start a ADN program in august 2013, but hubby got a new job in march 2013 out of state. I was very upset and went through the process of transfering my credits and finding a new college that accepted all of them. I am currently waiting for my letter of acceptance to start in january 2014. I pray I will get in and if I do I will be 51 when i graduate!

Roane State Fall 2012
I don't know if anyone is still reading this thread but I applied for january 2013. Does anybody know when they will tell us who is accepted? I have a 3.77 and did not get into the august class. I have only two b's in eng comp and stats all others are A's.

Congrats!!!!!! You give me hope! I too am about your age but just starting the nursing courses. The advice you gave is so valuable. I am the most worried about the clinical. With such great resources available I believe I can do it!

Roane State Fall 2012
I am waiting too! I have applied for the LPN to RN. I cannot even think of what I will do if I don't get in. I'm getting to old to wait much longer! In process of taking AP 2 and micro right now, anybody else taking these classes right now at Oak Ridge?

been lvn too long
I am 47 and have been an LPN for more than 25 years. I am going for my lpn-rn. Still working on pre-reqs and hope to start nursing classes fall of 2012. Your never to old! My sister will be done with her RN in december this year and she is four years older than me! And never been a nurse! [Please forgive me sis I gave up your age] I just take it day to day, I still dread the change of getting out of my comfort zone, but it will be worth it to say "I am an RN"! :yeah:I put my hands together for all the wonderful healthcare workers, you never get enough kudos.
