HELLO, WORLD, IF ANYONE WOULD KINDLY SHARE ADVICE OR EXPERIENCE REGARDING WHEN TO TAKE MICROBIOLOGY AND ANATOMY/PHYSIOLOGY FOR MY NURSING PREREQUISITES, AT MY CAMPUS ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY IS JOINTED AS ONE CLASS, MY IDEAL PLAN IS TO TAKE BOTH CLASSES IN ONE SEMESTER AND ONE HUMANITIES COURSE WHAT DO U GUYS THINK? ? Anyone Thanks! !

It really just depends on you, what kind of student you are and how much you can handle in a semester. I've had semesters that I've taken 2 or more sciences together, etc. But I love math and science, so for me it's not an issue. If you hate science, well then it'll probably be like slowly pulling your toenails out taking two sciences in a semester ;)

Good luck with whatever you decide! :D

First let me address your current issue with the CAPS button, yours seem to be stuck in the 'ON' position. Kindly, turn it off.

Secondly, take whatever classes you want together. This is not a dilemma. If you think you can handle the courses, then do it. No one on this forum is going to know your ability to successfully take the courses more so than yourself.

Thank U Guys for responding, i understand you guys saying its up to me what I can handle, But how do I know what I can handle if I don't know what both classes consist of SINCE I never took them? My question I assume is are Both Classes concepts too much? Learning human anatomy and cells and diseases at the same time!!! I need As in both :)

You realize not all college courses are created equal? Your micro is probably nothing like the micro I took. These questions would be best if taken to campus and not a board of individuals from all over.

Nobody here knows what kind of student you are, nor do we know the type of course being taught by individual instructors at your school. What it all boils down to is your willingness to investigate on your own prior to registering for classes and your willingness to buckle down and do the work once you have made your decision.

When are you applying to the program? If immediately after this semester, then it looks like you have to finish your prerequisites now. If you have a minimum of two semesters before you apply, then why stress yourself by taking two potentially difficult science courses at the same time?

A&P and micro are, generally, considered the most difficult pre reqs. Taking them together is not easy and will take a lot of study time. I wouldn't advise taking them together unless your a strong science student. Good luck.

I took A&P 2 and Micro together in one semester. I got high As in both, along with working part-time, and I didn't find it especially difficult. But I LOVE science! I probably could have taken another "easy" class with them but I saved it for the summer.

However, it really depends on you and what you think you are capable of doing, how much time you need to study, time management, and other responsibilities like family, work, volunteering...

Good luck! :)

I took Microbiology, Chemistry, and Advanced Anantomy and Physiology all on one semester along with a math class. Its totally doable. I got A's in all of the above. I would take that over nursing school any day!

I am currently taking AP II and Microbiology, holding an A in both. I also have two young kids, so it can be done. Yes it's a lot of work and studying, but not impossible. I would suggest if you plan on doing that not taking the humanities as that may be too much.

They are just classes, you read the assignments, go to class, take notes, do the work. If you really can't handle 2 science classes at once, nursing school will be very tough. It is all non-stop pharm/fundamentals/science courses. Be a good thing to get in the habit now of organizing your study time.

I agree wholeheartedly with this. The semester prior to starting nursing classes I took 7 classes. It was the best thing I ever did because it forced me to be uber-organized (I am organized anyhow, but this stepped it up a notch!) There was a ton of reading, which helped me prepare for the readings in the nursing classes. It helped me learn how to balance out my time. Even in the nursing classes, everyone told us no way you could take anything other than the nursing classes, not doable, but it is if you can get the schedule (kind of at the mercy of whatever schedule the school offers, and if it interferes with the nursing classes).

Good luck to the OP :D
