If you graduated in the last 5 years, how long did it take you to find a job?
graduated dec 2013, took the boards in june of 2014 (was in no hurry since the hospital i was working for as a CNA had promised to get me in their new grad program in september). September rolled around and they cancelled the new grad program so here I was... :/ was already working home health though so no big deal. Applied to new grad programs in september, got my first yes in October second, third and fourth in december... waited for county and got a yes in Feb...starting next week! ED! yay!

Hired to Medicare rehab unit in Oct
Hired on with us in Feb.
Just had one year anniversary with us
..California.
She's is neither treated like a slave nor poorly paid btw.
ETA ADN with previous BA, Currently completely BSN.
Graduated Dec 2013 in TX with my BSN
Call me crazy, but I wanted med-surg to begin with. That's what I got.
Did NOT have a job upon graduation. I got a late start applying to my system, waiting for them to release residencies.. turns out, no residents for them that year. After graduation, within 1 month, another hospital in the system called me for an interview. I got the job, and... turns out, the hiring hospital was closer to home anyways.
I'm paid well for a beginner nurse. I just got a nice pay bump last week too. Couldn't be happier with my pay and benefits for my position/time on the job.
My one year anniversary is coming up next week too :)
Graduated August 2012 with my BSN (previous BS in Criminology)
Took boards in October 2012
I didn't start applying to jobs right away because I knew I wanted to move out of TN but I wasn't sure where I wanted to go - eventually decided on Iowa (regretting it this winter). Applied for two jobs in November got got offers on both at the end of November/early December. I started in January 2013 because getting my license switched over took forever (one of the jobs was across the border in IL). My full time job was on a psych floor that I still love and work at, and my part time job was on a med-surg floor that I hated and left not long after.
