I'm answering for our grad nurse (we love her btw)..

Graduated in May

Took boards in June

Obtained ACLS, PALS, and SAFE cert

Hired to Medicare rehab unit in Oct

Hired on with us in Feb.

Just had one year anniversary with us

She's is neither treated like a slave nor poorly paid btw.

I have yet to graduate, but I have a great deal of friends who graduated a semester before me who ALL have landed jobs within 1 month of passing nclex. Hopefully I will have the same luck! I live in south-east Texas. (Beaumont)

Graduated 3 years ago, and got hired on graduation day! Actually, had started interviewing 2 months prior, but HR gave me the green light later. I started working a month later.

Flu shot clinics and private duty peds nursing starting in October 2010, while working part time as an ED tech.

1st full time job in a SNF wasn't until January 2011.

Fast forward a few years and now working in the peds ED

1 week before graduation (contingent on passing NCLEX). Many of my classmates had jobs a month or more before graduation. I feel like a lot of people miss opportunities because they wait too late to start applying.

Many programs interview new grads due to graduate in May in February, March, or April before graduation. If you wait until after graduation, you've missed that window altogether because those programs have already hired everyone they are going to hire. You're just going to have to compete with the December grads for the February spots instead.

Graduated in May 2013 and had several offers to choose from. Started working June 2013.

In Chicagoland. Graduated July 2010, passed NCLEX same month.

Applied daily to job after job after job. All venues, all shifts, PT/FT.

7.5 months to get a part time job an hour from home at a LTC facility.
