Gearing up for next semester : )

Anyone else getting excited for next semester to start?? I was telling my husband how excited I was then I got to thinking that it must mean that as hard as the first semester was to adjust to, it didn't crush my spirit about becoming a nurse:nurse: I'm am taking 4 courses again this semester but it is laid out much easier time-wise (read 'more time to study':typing) I'm taking General Psychology(hybrid), Adult Nursing I, A&PII, and First Aid & CPR. What does your next semester look like??

I am so ready for classes to start! Last Semester!! Funny that a 2 weeks ago I was so looking forward to break and now I want it to be over. My professors must think I am crazy because I log on to blackboard many times each day to see if anything is posted yet. I want to get started so that I can finish

LOL.. don't feel bad, I do the same thing! :yeah:I'm ready to go back!!! I check blackboard but my new classes aren't up yet, it's still the old one. It's driving me nuts!!!

I had a really unexpectedly difficult first semester of nursing school last semester. I ended up doing ok but completely drained. I want to get back into my usual groove of studying my heart out and doing well but I'm afraid that the trials of last semester made me lose my good student mojo. Now I'm nervous for and dreading next semester. No matter what its going to be a difficult semester because I have Med-Surg lecture/lab, Gerontology lecture/lab, Pathophysiology, and Health Promotions plus my first ATI test that we have to pass or else we have to repeat the semester. Not to mention that I took Math for Meds a year ago and starting this semester 10% of all of our test questions will be medical calculations. Math is just not my stong point. So I'm trying to get excited but I'm pretty scared and tired just thinking about it. On top of all that my car just broke down and I have to come up with the money to put in a new transmission or buy another car. I'm very worried because my clinicals for next semester are an hour away and start at 6am so I need a reliable car. Oh the stress!

Next semester will be my first semester too, and your schedule is identical to mine. I'll be taking the exact same classes, the only differance is I will be taking a History class.(its a G.E. for BSN) along with my nursing classes.

Jpeters, we had to do 2 ATI tests last semester or we couldn't go on. However, if we didn't pass, we got to remediate on our own. It was easy. If your school is the same, I wouldn't worry about it.

I'm so excited for the semester to start! I'm taking A & P 2, psy life span and development and Nur 1010 Intro to nursing. Nur 101is the pre-req before getting into the program. Your allowed to petiton to the program during the class. I can't wait, then I can petition and hopefully I'll start in the fall! I wanted to say good luck to everyone in the upcoming semester and I know you'll all do good. :D

I can't wait either!!! I'm taking General Chem Winter term right now and my last day is Jan 16th. Very hard class but I am pulling off an A! But for spring semester I will be taking Dev. Psych, Music App, Concepts of Nursing, A&P I and A&P II at the same time. Trying to get it done in one semester b/c I need to take Pharmacology in the fall and you need to have the A&P classes finished before then so I'm wishing myself good luck! But I'm sure I'll pull of A's in those classes as well. So 17 credit hours. But I'm Ready. I'll be turning in my app before June 1st at UTA for spring '10!!!:)

I'm going into my final semester starting Jan 20, to graduate May 16. I have 12 weeks of Advanced Med/Surg (Lecture 3x/week, clinical 2x/week) plus Leadership in Nursing 1x/week. That'll run till April 14, when we'll start a 160 hour preceptorship (hopefully in a NICU or nursery for me). Then final Exit HESI on May 15, and graduation.

I am excited to start this semester as well. Very excited!

I am setting my heart on higher things. I cant wait to gain this amazing knowledge that nursing brings~`

I am in my third semester.... one semester left after this Grad date Oct 20th the day before my 15th wedding Anniv. this is awesome to me. Can't wait to get done but will actually probably miss it when its over...... Can't wait to say its over though.

I'm starting my first semester of nursing school proper. Nursing Fundamentals and Pharmacology are the only classes. I finished all the non-nursing classes while I spent 3 years on the waitlist. I'm terrified.

it's uplifting that everybody is excited for the next semester. 22 days to go for my final and 2nd full semester! my CC has changed their curriculum from term to semestral last semester. i only had 1 nursing class last semester but it felt it was the longest semester in my life! this coming spring semester, i have also 1 nursing class (10 credits) -- there will be more med/surg clinical rotations, and PCU/ICU. it's gonna be fun! my application for graduation was already turned in, and all my calendars at home are marked for the Graduation on May 2009! target date for NCLEX is also marked. Good luck, everyone!
