Anyone else getting excited for next semester to start?? I was telling my husband how excited I was then I got to thinking that it must mean that as hard as the first semester was to adjust to, it didn't crush my spirit about becoming a nurse:nurse: I'm am taking 4 courses again this semester but it is laid out much easier time-wise (read 'more time to study':typing) I'm taking General Psychology(hybrid), Adult Nursing I, A&PII, and First Aid & CPR. What does your next semester look like??
I'm excited and nervous about next semester. This will be my first full semester of nursing classes which is four days a week and only 9 credit hours. We have Fundamentals Lecture, Fundamentals Practicum, Health Assessment Lecture, Health Assessment Lab, and Clinicals one day a week. I would like to take another class, but I don't know where I'd find the time between school and kids (10yr, 9yr, and 3yr).
Next semester will be my first semester too, and your schedule is identical to mine. I'll be taking the exact same classes, the only differance is I will be taking a History class.(its a G.E. for BSN) along with my nursing classes.
I was excited now i'm numb...i have to move an hour away to school in a totally new enviroment...but i guess in a yeare it will all pay off...as far as couses i'm taking patho, med calc, health assesment and lab, intro to prof. nur, and bio-medical ethics :/
Dont be numb, be excited! I did that when I first moved to this school and it was great. It was almost like a fresh start. Plus an hour away is still totally doable to go back and see friends/ family.
Well I moved over 5 hours away so packing up and going home was not as easy an option. When I left I was not on very good terms with my parents. Needless to say I hated them. But me being away from them actually brought me closer to them. Thank god for phone calls and emails. It made our relationships grow by me being far away from them.
But yes I did. It was hard, but I made friends where I was at school very quickly. This was before I went into my nursing program. I also had my friends from home visit me as most of them had never traveled to where I was going to school. You find little ways to make it work out for you. And trust me, once school starts, you are going to be meeting a bunch of people in your classes and in the hospitals and it will be a good time, if you make it that.
I am sooo excited for this semester! about a week and a half left of freedom to go lol
I'm taking Foundations II (which is med-surg), Pathophysiology, Effective Oral Communication (dang speech classes...I *hate* talking in front of large groups of people and I'm really not looking forward to this one... ), and Self-Defense lol. The last one was only 1 credit and I needed 1 more credit to stay full-time so it was either that, or take another class that I don't need that will require more time.

I will be starting my second semester this spring. I have Med Surg II lecture and clinicals at our hospital. I think our Med. Surg. clinical is on a floor dealing with neuro.
Then we have Maternal Mother Child and OB clinical. I can't wait. I am really not interested in working in OB because I can't handle deliveries, but I think it will be really exciting to have the experience.
