Anyone else getting excited for next semester to start?? I was telling my husband how excited I was then I got to thinking that it must mean that as hard as the first semester was to adjust to, it didn't crush my spirit about becoming a nurse:nurse: I'm am taking 4 courses again this semester but it is laid out much easier time-wise (read 'more time to study':typing) I'm taking General Psychology(hybrid), Adult Nursing I, A&PII, and First Aid & CPR. What does your next semester look like??
Well, I am very excited because it is my last semester. However, it is the busiest one! I have Mental Health, Med Surg, Professional Transitions, a mental health clinical, a med surg clinical, and finally a 12 hour preceptorship thing going on. So yes I will be very busy, but sooo glad it will be my last one!
I'm not excited yet, but I did look at me med-surg book today..for 5 minutes LOL. I still need some "healing time". Last semester was BRUTAL with 3 kids (13, 7 & 3) and working 25 hrs/wk. I really enjoyed the school part of it, but everything together really took its toll. I am planning to doing a few things differently to make life easier ie I already started freezing meals, and just keeping up with the readings better AND eating better and finding a new stress reliever. LOL. any ideas?
I guess I can I ready to get the next semester over because God willing, I will graduate!!!!!!!! This break is much needed but now I just want to finish because the light at the end of the tunnel is getting very warm and I'm liking it HA HA HA. I'm so excited and now I just don't know what to do with myself without all the stress!!! I'm just going to hit the ground running come January 20th.
Also excited here---and a bit nervous, too! It's been 12 years since I have been in college (earned a BS in '97), so this is certainly like starting over for me.
I have 2 classes that I must take before applying to the Nursing program, and 2 more that I am going to go ahead and complete so that I can focus on the nursing curriculum once I get in. I'm applying for Spring 2010 acceptance.
This semester I am taking A&P I and Developmental Psych.
Good luck and happy studying, all!
I am so ready for classes to start! Last Semester!! Funny that a 2 weeks ago I was so looking forward to break and now I want it to be over. My professors must think I am crazy because I log on to blackboard many times each day to see if anything is posted yet. I want to get started so that I can finish

Practicum is just like lab kinda its where you practice what you learn in lecture on other fellow students or the maniquins, things like how to do vitals, lung assessments, cardiac assessments, nothing invasive so far! Your school may call it something different. I keep hearing about med/surg. and we dont have that at our school we have fundamentals and I am wondering if maybe its the same thing? Yeah it would be easier if there were universal names for the classes so we know what is what!:)
