Gearing up for next semester : )

Anyone else getting excited for next semester to start?? I was telling my husband how excited I was then I got to thinking that it must mean that as hard as the first semester was to adjust to, it didn't crush my spirit about becoming a nurse:nurse: I'm am taking 4 courses again this semester but it is laid out much easier time-wise (read 'more time to study':typing) I'm taking General Psychology(hybrid), Adult Nursing I, A&PII, and First Aid & CPR. What does your next semester look like??

second semester, first seven are peds and OB with clinicals 1 day a week, and two 2-hour lectures (OMG, how am I going to sit still for that long), the last seven are Med-Surg II which is the class everyone keeps warning us about, it's the one that weeds out a huge amount of students. That one is two clinicals a week, with three 1-1/2 hour lectures I think. I've started doing some of my reading, and working on the drug cards. Actually we only need to know about the drugs, but if I'm going to look the stuff up I might as well do the drug cards to carry with me. I've almost got the freezer stocked up with the stouffer's for the hubby's nights of cooking. And finishing up cleaning the house until spring break LOL. Good Luck everyone!!

I'm excited only because it's my last semester :) I've had enough of school to last me a while...

No - I can't say I'm excited. Starting 4th of four semesters and I'm just plain tired of school. Looking forward to learning new subject matter; but not to sitting through endless lectures of what I've already read in the textbook and getting up at 4:30 AM for 13-hour clinicals.

I'm glad to hear I am not the only one to get up super early for clinicals!! I normally set my alarm for 0400 so I can wake up (I am NOT a morning person), get a shower, get my daughter up, get her ready for daycare and be out the door by 0600 so I can drop her off and be at the hospital by 0645. Thank goodness we only have one clinical day per week this semester!! We had 2 days back-to-back per week last semester. That made for 2 very long days!!:nurse:

It get up shortly after 4am for clinicals as well. And I would lying if I said I am looking forward to starting my second semester tomorrow. The tests that have nothing to do with what we've studied and the military-esque culture in my program are not a pleasure. But nothing comes easy, so I'll be in class tomorrow with bells on!

i go back for semester 2/4 on the 20th and i must say i am super excited!!! we are doing meg/surg and maternity for clinicals. we have lecture 2 days a week and will be going over a bunch of topics this semester, maternity obviously being one of them. good luck everyone!!!

Good Morning All....

Today starts semester 2/4 for me and we are doing Med-Surg I & Psych. Oh my something tells me that I'm not in Kansas anymore. Good Luck everybody.
