Anyone else getting excited for next semester to start?? I was telling my husband how excited I was then I got to thinking that it must mean that as hard as the first semester was to adjust to, it didn't crush my spirit about becoming a nurse:nurse: I'm am taking 4 courses again this semester but it is laid out much easier time-wise (read 'more time to study':typing) I'm taking General Psychology(hybrid), Adult Nursing I, A&PII, and First Aid & CPR. What does your next semester look like??

I'm so excited for next semester. I'm taking Advanced Med/Surg. It's our ER/OR/Critical care semester, and ICU is where I want to be when I graduate, so I can't wait to get started. I'm also taking a class called "Research and evidence-based practice", which I'm guessing is going to involve a lot of time at the library and in front of my computer, writing papers..so it's hard to get excited about that part :specs: Oh well..it's still going to be a great semester!

Specializes in Med/Surg.

I wouldn't say I'm excited....but I am definitely ready to get going into second semester. I'll be taking Fundamentals, Health Assessment and Anthropology.

I was so excited to be done with fall semester, but here I am 3 weeks into winter vacation and I am so ready to be back in classes! I have already started looking over some texts r/t my first 8 week class!

I am in OB/clinicals the first 8 wks, then Peds the second 8 wks.

Specializes in OB.

I'm excited and nervous about next semester. This will be my first full semester of nursing classes which is four days a week and only 9 credit hours. We have Fundamentals Lecture, Fundamentals Practicum, Health Assessment Lecture, Health Assessment Lab, and Clinicals one day a week. I would like to take another class, but I don't know where I'd find the time between school and kids (10yr, 9yr, and 3yr).

This will probably sound dumb but what is a practicuum? I have seen it in other schools' curriculum but I have never heard it at my school. What is it??

FLRN2be, Your at the same school as me and I had health assmt lect. and health assmt lab and i thought the class was really fun! Who do you have? Kopp is who I had and she is great! My advice to you is that if you have Kopp she has a book that she recomends but she actually uses it a lot in creating her tests and I didnt get the book and wished I had later so def. get that book you can get it on Amazon cheap! I start Fundamentals lec. with practicum and mental health nursing this Jan. in addition to clinicals, you must be a fall b student? Good Luck you will enjoy your health assmt class!
