What general discussion topic on allnurses do you get the most annoyed at?

For example: My pet-peeve is the "I hate working the floor. What cushy nursing jobs are there that do not require any real work?"

How would you like to respond to these topics?

For example: I would like to respond "Quit being lazy, put your time in, and develop into a stronger nurse before venturing out."

Without being specific enough to identify anyone, please contribute with your thoughts about topics that annoy you the most.

Please do not insult, demean, or disparage anyone. After all- at allnurses we are allfriends.

I noticed tonight that the "drunk at clinical" thread had pulled a necro-thread maneuver: https://allnurses.com/general-nursing-student/drunk-and-high-962946.html

That's my fault. I couldn't resist.

Actually you weren't the first. That honor goes to BuckyBadger who sneaked in a response before yours. Now I'm waiting to see if the OP comes back and replies. It's been a few months since this thread was started, curious if she learned something from the responses or if she is still stuck in the victim mentality.

Well that op was on the site yesterday.

"I failed nursing school twice. Can I just apply to a different program and not send in my previous transcripts"?

I saw that topic post and just cringed. I can imagine that several nurses have engaged in that sort of academic fraud. For every one that is caught, there are likely several who are not:no:.

You know what really grinds my gears... When i prepare a long reply for someone and the OP never comes back to check the post or give an update at all.

Yeah, that one scared me a little. Whatever happened to academic integrity? The lack of that probably has something to do with why professional integrity seems to sliding downhill fast.

"I am 24 yrs old. Am I too old to be a nurse?"

"I heard it is easier for males to get into nursing school"

"I have a 2.3 GPA What are my chances of getting into nursing school? BTW I live in California"

"I am a new grad from the Philippines, no nursing experience, no SSN, no work visa. How do I get a license in California?"

New Grad: "Is the reason I finish later than the experienced nurses because I love my patients more, or because they're cutting corners, or some combination of the two?"

I guessing still stuck in the victim mentality -- or perhaps flunked out of school.

And don't forget all the posts about nurses who smoke/are obese/don't exercise/fail to model a "healthy" lifestyle. ~sigh~

You're all supposed to be "called" to nursing, don't you know? The ones who are "called" would of course model perfect behaviour.
