I heard that you are going to need a PHD to be a NP in like 6 months and I am done with NP school in 2 weeks so will I be grandfathered in?
The awesome, sarcastic, venting threads, especially on the ER threads, and there start to be bets on how soon there is a post like, " I am so OFFENDED how all of you could be a nurse! I would NEVER even THINK this about ANY of MY patients! I hope I NEVER have a nurse like you when I am sick"
The snarks, " ummm we are venting anonymously, not talking to actual patients"
Offended, "BUT you are THINKING these horrible things about these POOR patients (who just hit, kicked, bit, spit at, cussed at, got fired for something bogus like a lack of soda the nurse who was venting about them on an anonymous forum)
OMG I went on a PA, med student, MD Forum and they were talking SO awful about nurses!!! We have to do soooommmmeeettthhhinnnnng!!! Oh the inhumanity!
The threads who have reasonable complaints about the nonsense of patient satisfaction and Press Gainey and there is always someone who is like, " you all have NO compassion. Nursing is my dream and calling and I may have only been a nurse for (1 month, a year, I am a pre-nursing student) but ALL my patients are ALWAYS happy (that is just part of being a good nurse) and is it really that hard to say, "I have the time!"?
If as a new grad NP you are not making 6 figures at your first job you are watering down the profession by daring to accept a lower salary. How could you do that to us?
On the school nurse threads when the vent about the outrageous behavior of parents and someone comes up, "ya know I am a parent and MY child has 70 different diseases and one time a school nurse almost killed him because she gave him his tylenol 20 minutes early so ya know parents often have a reason to be rude and obnoxious"

Wrong. My poop doesn't stink. I'm amazing. I'm only a pre-nursing student and I can already tell you everything about what nursing is supposed to be and how you are ALL doing it wrong.

Gosh yes! I am getting relatively frequent email notifications from threads I follow with content like "I made umpty thousand dollars in one week working from home.." At least the posts are always deleted from AN if I open the link.
