What general discussion topic on allnurses do you get the most annoyed at?

For example: My pet-peeve is the "I hate working the floor. What cushy nursing jobs are there that do not require any real work?"

How would you like to respond to these topics?

For example: I would like to respond "Quit being lazy, put your time in, and develop into a stronger nurse before venturing out."

Without being specific enough to identify anyone, please contribute with your thoughts about topics that annoy you the most.

Please do not insult, demean, or disparage anyone. After all- at allnurses we are allfriends.

going slightly off topic: stumbled onto an extremely right wing Facebook page, and seeing a comment blaming Obama & his stance on undocumented immigrants as being the cause of the measles outbreak.

:wideyed:

I heard that garbage from my husband, who is just as conservative as I am liberal. My mind was blown.

People with vomit of the mouth syndrome. Stop and think before posting! Your opinion is not the only one that matters and is often ridiculous and misguided.

There, it's out. Much better now 😅

I loved the post where that girl in clinical is drunk. I have no proof but I want to report her to my school. Why? Because I hate her. Oh wait not the answer i want, let me another post asking if I can report her to the bon and ruin her life with no proof.

That was classic. I believe, if we're thinking of the same posts, it was only the OP and her buddy who were NOT drunk; the other eight members of the clinical group were all wasted. And yet only the OP seemed to notice....? And only the OP was failing....but that was coincidence :sniff:

"An RN with a BSN is better at performing bedside nursing than an ADN prepared RN because of the additional classes taken. A BSN isn't just needed for advanced care settings, that extra education is applicable in all cases. Anyone who thinks otherwise in anti-intellectual."

Same poster, 15 minutes later in another thread.....

"A Nurse Practitioner is just as capable as an MD in providing routine primary care. The extra education and training one receives in medical school in not applicable at this level."

:roflmao: to hell with logical continuity Lmao!

I actually find the reverse to be quite true more often than not. The laziness, sense of entitlement and cattiness of younger nurses can be just as stunning. It's not a problem with one group or the other, but BOTH. Way to categorize YET AGAIN, "old" nurses. Age discrimination, still alive and well.

The posts that annoy me the most are from the older nurses who are really rude and condescending and act as if they were never experienced being fresh out of nursing school before with no clue as to what was going on. It's as if some members of allnurses actually enjoy making others feel bad about not knowing some things.. I've noticed it is always the older more experienced nurses who tend to be the cattiest.

That was classic. If I remember right they were all drunk except the OP and her buddy, yet apparently nobody else noticed. There's another one not too long ago with a nurse who never witnessed this other nurse divert meds, doesn't even work the same shift. Yet she was compelled to write statements about her "suspicions." Yeah, way to ruin a career with no proof.

But you know what they say; if you throw a rock into a pack of wild dogs, the one that howls is the one that got hurt..

I could've sworn it was...."The smeller's the feller"
