What general discussion topic on allnurses do you get the most annoyed at?
For example: My pet-peeve is the "I hate working the floor. What cushy nursing jobs are there that do not require any real work?"
How would you like to respond to these topics?
For example: I would like to respond "Quit being lazy, put your time in, and develop into a stronger nurse before venturing out."
Without being specific enough to identify anyone, please contribute with your thoughts about topics that annoy you the most.
Please do not insult, demean, or disparage anyone. After all- at allnurses we are allfriends.
Oh oh, remembered another one:
"I need to know asap which nursing programs west of the Mississippi will take my 13 credits as transfers. I haven't even tried Google for the names of nursing programs, or calling any of the ones I know of. I want YOU , Dear Internet Stranger, to find out for me and let me know RIGHT AWAY which school I need to apply to. In the morning. Because I have to move tomorrow and need to know this before i pack up my computer."
Ok, that's a little excessive, but I swear NOT by MUCH!!
^^^ Have I mentioned you are my hero for responding to all those PVT threads?
LOL, I actually seriously do try to help out, I really do. And there are a lot of people who have genuinely said "thanks" and been happy for the info. There really are people who have reasonable questions, TRIED to find out for themselves, and just needed some clarification. I have no problem with those.
But then there's those that b**** that it's not nice enough, not informative enough, not...whatever...and complain! Especially when they don't get the full explanation I typed out ONE POST above their own! Geez....
^^ Did you see my earlier suggestion that people should be required to read one of your instructional posts and then pass a quiz before posting PVT questions?
ROFL....but then I'd still get snarked at for not explaining it to them in particular, the 'second hand' explanation that was as detailed as a fliggin' TEXTBOOK wasn't good enough, they should get extra tries at passing because it was obviously a stupid quiz that didn't really show how amazing they are....

Ok, what the heck, I'll play; I'll be the italics:
"Has anyone ever heard of anyone getting 148 (or 202, or 97...) questions on NCLEX and passing?!? PLZ help, I'm freaking out, has anyone EVER GOTTEN THAT NUMBER AND PASSED?!?!"
No. I've absolutely never heard of anyone ever passing the NCLEX after getting (specified number) of questions. You can take my anonymous internet word for it: you failed.
"I did the PVT fifteen minutes after I finished the test, then an hour later, and I've been doing it every 17 minutes since then, and I still have the same pop up. It's now 12 hours since I took the test; do you think I passed?!?"
Absolutely. YOU are the one very special person for whom a ridiculous number of registration attempts in less than 15 hours post-exam means success. I'm sure because you really really want to know (and therefore keep punching numbers on your phone) you will totally get PV to score YOUR exam faster.
"My sister's hairdresser's therapist said that her cat threw up in the shape of an F. I've always believed in supernatural provenance...so.....do you think that predicts I failed?!?"
Yes. Anyone stupid enough to look for writings in the sand (or cat puke) cannot be expected to pass this exam.
"I got the exact same message as the 358 people ahead of me, who all said it was the good pop up, and that they passed. Does this mean I got the good pop up? Did I get the good pop up? Did I pass?"
No. The hundreds of threads you ignored on your way to posting this gem of a question were all wrong. It's a conspiracy. They actually all failed, so you did too. Game over.
"The PVT was totally wrong for me! I did it exactly as everyone said to do it....and it was WRONG!!"
Well, yes, because "doing it exactly right" for YOU was a complete 180 degree difference than everyone else. Here's your sign.....
"I failed the first/second/fourth time, but did it again, do you think I passed this time?"
Maybe. Yes. No. or Not. But I'm absolutely certain I'm correctly answering you
"I don't understand this: I was the bestest student in my class at the Acme Academy for Profiteering Nursing Programs. This is a very prestigious skool and everyone loved me in clinicals, even the patients I nearly killed. I'm an AWESOME, totally amazing nurse. WHY CAN'T I PASS NCLEX??"
No idea. Clearly you are being cheated. You should just go to another State and take the test there. And if you fail, by gum you should go to yet another State, and keep doing it until you pass! Never give up! You're a caring and compassionate person who is OBVIOUSLY a fantastic nurse!

I think I have to stop now
