Nope. It's what I would do as a volunteer if that was feasible. Less hours and longer weekends yes, but not a different role.

Hmmm.... today's fantasies:

Novelist (actually working on this one)

Educator (also working toward this one)

Cruise director

Dog walker

Whitewater raft guide

Beach bum

Salesperson

I'll probably want something else tomorrow, or next week.

Specializes in ICU.

I would be a professional traveler. I would have a travel blog in which I reviewed accommodations, landmarks, and good restaurants all around the world.

I enjoy watching paranormal shows, too, so another option for the above is I'd have a travel TV show where I only ate at haunted restaurants. I would review the food in the first half of the show, and then would investigate the location for ghostly activity after it closed for the night. That would be awesome.

Lololol sounds like me! And what kind of educator are you working on... Nurse educator or educator as in school teacher?

Nurse educator for now.

I've been drafted as a clinical instructor for my current agency and I really like it.

But ask me again tomorrow...

Specializes in Medical Oncology, Alzheimer/dementia.

I've put my heart and soul into nursing, and it's been a great career. However, some days I think I'd like to be a private investigator.

Exactly why I chose nursing. At least I can change specialties. I tend to change jobs like my underwear.

I would love to continue nursing and one day be able to go back to school to be an ER physician. I don't know if it will happen or not. Family comes first.

I'm not telling you it's going to be easy, I'm telling you it's going to be worth it.
