If you were to pick another profession or if nursing didn't work out, what other professions can you see yourself doing? Or is nursing the only thing you can envision.. I know many people who say "they could never imagine doing anything else.

I came to nursing after a lot of other life experiences. So for me I can't imagine doing anything else. It's what I'm supposed to do. It is hard work but it feels good to do this kind of hard work.

I'm pretty strong in writing and enjoy my creative outlets, probably something along those lines but I really need security as well .. I could see myself doing like half nursing and half writing and music / other stuff maybe

As I work on my MSN and delve into research paper after research paper.....I increasingly can envision myself as retired.
In all seriousness though...no. It has been the achievement of my life and the work I wish to be both defined by and remembered for.

Travel photographer… but that would cost a lot more money than I'd probably make! Most days, I'm quite happy being a nurse (those days I'm not are the days where I work an 18 hour shift because I'm on call and the poo hits the fan or the days a patient doesn't make it out of the OR alive).

When I went to college I wanted to do either music or nursing. My first year i did music and it was awesome but I realized it wasn't what I wanted to do so now in my second year I'm doing nursing :) but I'm also getting my music minor with nursing so I can reach guitar on the side I guess lol
I was a veterinary tech for quite awhile, a stay at home mom for another portion. I spent time dealing with several family illnesses that really drew me to be a nurse.

My non realistic dream jobs would be either a marine biologist or a herpetologist. I would spend months out in the field at a time.
I would also be happy with being a veterinarian, if I felt like going into major debt for school. I think I will stick with nursing. It seems to have enough variety to keep me satisfied if I want a change.
