Commute time to hospital job

Hello everyone. I'm curious to know how far you currently drive from home to your job at the hospital. Thanks.

**Just answering a sampling of the questions I get when people hear my answer...

I am employed by a hospital but I rarely go there and, when I do, I take public transportation. The hospital is approximately 8 miles from my house. I am community based and work from home as well as visit patients in their homes. Since our program has to cover the entire state between 4 people, our territories are rather large. My farthest away patients live about 50 miles from my home but I get paid mileage and I only have to see each patient once/month. The office where we have our weekly meetings is ~ 10 miles from my house.

When you live in a city, though, distance is not necessarily related to commute time. It took me just as long yesterday to get to a patient who lives 9 miles from my house as it did to get to one who lives 45 miles away the other day.

20 minute drive, most of the time is getting from house to highway.

45 min. However the hospital precinct is about to enter 5 years of construction for MetroTunnel so I dread to think what it is going to do. Once that is finished I may do public transport as the train will literally stop on hospital grounds.
